GD Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 Haven't bought a basketball game for PS in years but apparently the NBA Live game from last year was one of the worst games ever made. Probably.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 This year is the first im going to be buying a basketball game as well, for ps3 most likely. What system is everyone using?
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 Their listed heights are actually extremely close. Demar 2.01 M Amir 2.06. I might get Live this year, honestly. It all comes down to GM mode. 2K's is always very good, and looks amazing this year. But Live looks better imo and I've always liked the gameplay better. Just comes down to association/whatever. The reason 2K is famous is the MyPlayer mode, which is amazing, I can't lie, love it. I've never played 2K online but I've heard the servers are really crappy, Live on the other hand was very fluent most of the time, even in 5 V 5 games.
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 2k is cheese. Every time you run into a player (happens a lot because the spacing is terrible) you lose the ball even if you're chris paul and have crazy handles in real life. Also, in online, everybody just spams 3s because it's so overpowered. Good graphics, but gameplay is terrible.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 So apparently JV is killing it at the World Cup and talk about tournament MVP is being thrown around if Lithuania keeps moving forward. They're playing Turkey right now and he's ripping Omer Asik apart. JV might turn into a fringe star this year.

z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 Who's the other JV? I'm assuming JVR?
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 James Van Riemsdyk but I'm just guessing.

His defence could use some work but hes so young he has a lot of upside. I don't think he ever becomes a star but he can be a very good player on a contending team and make an All Star appearance or 2.

He played like an elite center down the stretch last year: http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/v/valanjo01/splits/2014/ Casey just needs to give him 36+ minutes a game.
SpeedyGose Verified Member Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 I agree that he may never be a star but I think an all star appearance or two is very light. Many big men don't even develop until mid 20s and he's already a legit starter. Could put together a 14-10-1 line on good efficiency at 21 years old. I don't think many people understand how good that truly is. He has holes to fill obviously. If he can improve on his passing out of the post/turning the ball over, that alone will make a world of difference.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 He played like an elite center down the stretch last year: http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/v/valanjo01/splits/2014/ Casey just needs to give him 36+ minutes a game. More than just the minutes they need to give him the ball more often. If he gets deep post position he is so dangerous.. Once they establish him in the post he will see double teams and that opens up the floor for the rest of the team.

burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Open Gym Season 3 Preview: Boner alert That gives me the chills. You can't watch that and not be excited about the Raptors season. I really want to see the game when OKC comes to town but its a weeknight and I live 4 hours away.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 So its not NBA but today Lithuania and USA play in the semifinal. Should be cool to see Jonas and Demar playing against each other.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Jonas with 15 and 7 agaisnt the US, on 5 shots, 11/13 from the line. No turn overs. Didn't catch the game but I have no idea what the US bigs are doing on defence, sending him to the line that many times with 5 shot attempts
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Apparently JV got into it with Cousins. Gave him a straight arm to the face.
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Jv flinched big time. Looked like a complete pussy.
SpeedyGose Verified Member Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Jv flinched big time. Looked like a complete pussy. Lol. He was tangled with the guy and had no idea that Cousins was freakingout. He had his back to him and all of a sudden a 270 lb behemoth is running at him with his fist cocked. I think flinching is only human

eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 Nothing will ever be as bad as Carlos Boozer who seemingly spray painted his head one time: http://larrybrownsports.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/carlos-boozer-spraypaint-hair-530x289.jpg
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 Jesus, wtf is that. http://blogs.thescore.com/tbj/2012/02/15/the-evolution-and-devolution-of-carlos-boozers-hair/
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 On the other hand, black guys can pull off thr shaved head pretty well, so I don't know what would compel him to do that.
