The Nets were clearly a much better coached team. Hit the boards much better and moved the ball a million times better. Game was close due to TO's superior athleticism

It's really hard to deal with his lack of (good) offensive plays and his infatuations.

Then why do you want guys like Karl and Jackson. lol

The nets also had more talent, experience and depth. For the Raps to take them to the last second in Game 7 was huge.

Fans who have watched their teams seem to hold them fairly well in that regard

But I mainly wanted Thibs or Vogel

Not a huge surprise here. I don't think Ujiri had much of a choice, especially with the way the players played for Casey. It's up to Masai now to make sure he gives him an adequate bench and at least limit him from making any dumb rotations.

Thibs and Vogel are not coming here. There really wasn't any other option but to bring Casey back. The sophomores improved and Derozan actually became a good player to my disbelief.

The deal is only 2 years and an option so I'm fine with this.

2 years and an option? I heard three. That's okay.

If Thibs and Vogel weren't coming here then I'm okay with this but neither of us have any way of /knowing/ that.

Real rumors coming out today from ESPN that the Raps are pursuing Vince Carter.

This would be a perfect signing. He'd be replacing John Salmons and Vince can still play at an effective level with limited minutes.

He'd be a perfect wing player to come off the bench for us. He'd also be extra motivated.

Posted
That would literally blow my mind, haha.

Vince can still play. Guy can still shoot 40% from 3 and his efficiency stats still show him as an above-average player.

He's kept himself in fantastic shape and has adapted to his bench role really well. You don't ever hear about him pouting or causing disruptions anymore. He's really matured.

Posted
He can also still bust out every once in a while and give you some much needed scoring off the bench (Almost 30 games this year with at least >15 points). Salmons cannot provide this.

He would be a great signing. Also he would restore his image in this city amongst the casuals.

For the Raptors, he'd generate a lot of buzz with the 20th anniversary season and jersey sales. Also, for VC he'd be in the spotlight whereas if he went somewhere else he wouldn't be that big of a deal.

Okafor as a backup centre would be a dream.

Rumors out of Houston that Chandler Parsons might be on the block. He's still relatively young and fairly efficient player. Would have to be contingent on signing long-term though. He'd be a fantastic 3.

You'd probably have to give up Ross to get him though and he'd likely command 8-10M a year.

i posted that like yesterday! lol

I'd give up Ross for Parsons and pay him what he wants. But I dunno if Houston would want that. I think they'd rather two first for him, given their cap situation, which I would do and is probably as valuable as Ross.

Signing Vince seems like a publicity move. He's 38 and can fall off a cliff at anytime but I guess he's at least better than Salmons...

I don't see how it's a good idea to trade Ross who is on a rookie deal for the right to pay Parsons 10m.

He's been solid for while now and he's in great shape. I don't think he's very likely to fall off a cliff.

I'm content with Casey as HC, he really grew as a coach since last year. Bringing on Nick Nurse helped the offense so much.

With Salmons all but guaranteed to be cut, there really isn't anyone for him to be in love with now.

Casey was 3rd on my list for coaches behind the Van Gundys.

I would love VC here too, could be hard to get him away from Dallas though. They like him there and he's been very happy according to reports.

Like hell they were. I guarantee you that Casey is a more respected coach at this point then Kidd is. In fact, Kidd barely registered in coach of the year

ballots. But what is there to be expected when this thread spent most of a 48 win season berating the coach, berating Demar and his jump shots, and

getting on everyone's case when the bench players were on the court ( regardless of the energy level or foul situation of the starters ).

Kid, you don't have a f***ing clue what you are talking about. The real world just confirmed this to you.

CHP, you interested in joining a dynasty hockey league? We'd love to have you.

And a totally unnecessary one at that. Besides, considering how vilified he is in the city, why would he ever want to play for the Raptors again?

?

It would be a great way for him to end his career. He had a massive impact on Canadian basketball.

Plus, uh, he's still good and stuff.

Um.

http://www.raptorsrepublic.com/2014/05/05/report-raptors-pursue-vince-carter-free-agency/

"If (Toronto) gave me the opportunity, I don’t even think I’d let them finish the question. Yes. I’m in,” Carter said. When asked if he could envision a potential reunion, Carter added “Could I see it? Absolutely. I’d leave that up to the franchise. It all started in Toronto, I’d be a fool to ever forget that.”

Turns out the Casey contract is actually pretty damn good.

3 yr breakdown 3.5/3.75/4. 3rd year is a team option.

For a growing team, who probably won't hit their prime until that 3rd year...I think Casey is a good fit. Clearly a great motivator as the players play their hearts out every game, offense improved as the season went along and obviously a good defensive coach to boot.

Consider me pleased.

Paul George Reportedly Caught Sleeping with Roy Hibbert’s Wife? Issue Causes Pacers Implosion

"Do you remember when Lance Stephenson and Evan Turner got into that fight? It was all over Roy Hibbert and Paul George. Lance has been getting all the blame for the Pacers off nights and during that day at practice Lance says 'y'all need to look at Roy's ass, he's been off ever since he found out PG was f****** his b****'," the source stated in his Baller Mail on Baller Alert.

"That's when Evan got mad at him for exposing that in front of everybody and that sparked the fight. Roy just walked away without saying anything but ever since then it's been a bigger downfall in his performance on the court."

"I don't know for sure, but that might also be the connection to PG's house getting broken into because all of a sudden now he doesn't want investigators involved. Supposedly PG and Hibbert's wife have been carrying on through instagram for a while before they ended up having sex. She felt guilty and told Hibbert and that's how he found out originally. It's bad because PG and Hibbert were really friends."
