Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2014 Posted April 20, 2014 Heh, apparently ESPN was to blame for the clock malfunction the other day. An ESPN technician plugged into the same power source as the clocks and blew the power (which didn't stop ESPN for mocking the Raptors).
Glock Verified Member Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 LMA with a monster game tonight, 46pts 18reb.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 Anyone else going to Game 2? Let's get a meetup going.

dineke Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 3 days in between game 1 and 2. WTF NBA.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 3 days in between game 1 and 2. WTF NBA. This is why baseball/MLB has the superior schedule. Annoying af to constantly have off days.

Yea I understand its meant to boost ratings and what not, but it drags the season out to much. Come the end of May, you stop caring if your team isnt in it.
SpeedyGose Verified Member Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 Round 1 needs to move back to 5 games

Come the end of May, you stop caring if your team isnt in it. Basketball should really end sooner, it interferes so much with the rest of the sports that if you're a fan of baseball for example (which we all are) then you don't even care when the Finals come around. If it at least ended in early April this wouldn't happen.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 This is why baseball/MLB has the superior schedule. Annoying af to constantly have off days. I think it's fixed to give Brooklyn's players some more time to recover. I think every other NBA team schedule is 1 day rest. Game 3 for the Raps/Nets is Friday which is ridiculous.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 Brooklyn Nets Head Coach Jason Kidd, Forward Paul Pierce and President Eric Adams were just a few to call out The Toronto Raptors GM Masai Ujiri. Jason Kidd said "You have to tell me who the GM is," Kidd said. "I don't even know who that is, so I could [not] care less what they think about Brooklyn. We have a job to do, and that's to play the game of basketball." Paul Pierce said “Really? I’m shocked that Bryan Colangelo would say that.” Eric Adams said "I can't say I'm surprised." Holy s***. That's really pathetic. Either they're talking s*** or they don't follow their own league. He was the god damn exec of the year. Raptors had better use this as fuel. I REALLY want to kick their sorry asses.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 Did anyone make a bracket? I took OKC over the bulls in my work pool. The only reason I took the bulls is because a series win over the heat would pretty much guarantee me winning it. I don't see anyone even pushing the Thunder to 7 games in any series to be honest

Kidd sounds like a real douchebag for not knowing who he is, acting as if this was the guy's first gig, what a dumbass.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 Jacked for tonight. Still haven't regained my voice from Saturday. GO RAPS GO
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 Yea the NBA as an organization is a bit of a hoe when it comes to putting ratings first above everything else. Of course if they come out and say something, they get fined and labeled whiners. The stupid part of it all is that the Raptors do have a massive fan base when they are performing.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 I'm so pumped for this game. Gonna try to pound back at least 6 beers before gonig into teh game.
SpeedyGose Verified Member Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 If the drive wasn't so far for me (over an hour) I would most likely be taking in a game. So pumped! Feeling really confident about this game. Played one of our worst offensive games of the season and we're winning with 6 minutes left in Game 1
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 I think they're going to win this one as well. I don't think any game is going to be a blow out but we'll take it late. Lowry is the hero tonight.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 Have a great time brosoff! I always do!
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 Must-win game for real. Losing 2 home games going into Brooklyn is a death sentence.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 Anyone know any decent streams? I want to try to go with something other than the usual s***** ones. Will definitely be watching both games.
letsgobjs Verified Member Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 Lol....there goes the raptors' chances.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 Bush league being spoken on Sportsnet. A former NBA ref literally just said that the league would prefer Brooklyn to win.

I don't really buy the conspiracy thing. We're hosting the 2016 all star game, lol. I don't think Silver hates us. But I wouldn't be surprised, either.
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 No doubt that many games have been rigged in some way or another across all sports.

But I wouldn't be surprised, either. It's no 2002 Kings for sure, but it just seems very apparent at times that refs will not make fair calls on both sides, usually hurting us.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was the league simply preferring one team over the other like you said rather than actually hating one of the teams, on second thought. I don't think the league hates us but I could see them simply liking Brooklyn more.

Yeah it's more of a question of who gets better ratings, the fans love Cinderella stories but ratings show that they'd rather enjoy the big teams.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 This is the best stream I could find http://www.vipboxam.co/basketball/222989/4/playoffs-:-toronto-raptors-vs-brooklyn-nets-live-stream-online.html Anyone else got a better one?
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 The place looks f***ing amazing. Good for you ECJF, I hope you have an awesome experience and the Raps come out with the win.
