theblujay Verified Member Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 This one of those games where the raps of the past few years would have lost. This team gets the job done
GD Old-Timey Member Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Our Pythagorean record before tonight was 35-21, love the way the team is playing right now. Can't wait for playoffs! Jesus christ. Why hadn't I seen this yet? What are our pre and post Rudy pytho records?
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Jesus christ. Why hadn't I seen this yet? What are our pre and post Rudy pytho records? I dunno. I do know the Raptors have out scored their opponents in the second half for 14 straight games. That's not bad

Not sure on that, I would imagine it's even more drastic but here is the article: http://stats.nba.com/featured/pythagorean_standings_2014_02_24.html

Its a top 10 off and def team, which not even the pacers are. In a way I actually don't mind that they have struggled closing out games vs the top teams so far as you can always learn more from failing than succeeding. 50 wins or 45 doesn't make really any difference in the end, if they don't make the second round the seasod should be seen as a failure

We're getting elite guard play every single night. We still need a dominant big man to take us to the next level but they're creating something special here.

Will be interesting to follow what happens with Lowry. A consistent presence at the point might be the key to keep this going year after year, but he has concerns with him as well.

A consistent presence at the point might be the key to keep this going year after year, but he has concerns with him as well. Tonight is the type of game that shows us why we should keep Lowry. Shot wasn't working but still found a way to positively impact the game with his passing and defense. He also has a crazy competitive streak. You can just see how badly he wants to win every single night. I really like him. I think they absolutely have to re-sign him. Keep this core in tact and go after one of the big names who will be a FA. We have the cap space to do so.
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 I only followed last nights play by play because I was in class. It felt like every other shot was for a 3 (and the 3 wasn't coming easy), and a lot of turnovers. A win is a win though Demar's stats looked good

Depending on how Val finishes this year, I may want them to just trade him and get a Vet C because so far, he's been pretty awful. Im not sure why people want to just wait 5 years for him to develop so we can then turn around and pay him FA money when he finally is a decent player. He's the one hole in our starting 5 and isn't improving.
SpeedyGose Verified Member Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 For those of you who are hoping for FA pickups/improvements, looking very unlikely. Will have to come through trades: http://forums.realgm.com/boards/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=1306953

Will have to come through trades: http://forums.realgm.com/boards/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=1306953 Read this earlier. 2015 looks like the right time for us to pounce (Durant). UGH that Landry Fields contract looks so stupid in retrospect. We have 23M tied up in completely useless players (Fields, Novak, Hayes, Salmons). Thankfully they'll be coming off the books soon though. Trading Bargs and Gay was so important to the long term health of this team. We also have a 1st and 2nd rounder next year so we can pick up some talent on the cheap.
SpeedyGose Verified Member Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 Absolutely. It's amazing how f***ed our contract situation was before Ujiri lol. Looks like we will be going with mostly internal growth, Salmons will be gone this year, hopefully Patterson sticks around. Fields, Novak and Hayes are just pits of money, all making far too much.

There has been so much talk of him being the centerpiece going forward, I would legitimately be shocked. If there is little to no improvement heading into the break next year, I can see it.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 Disposing of Vasquez could free up so much space.

I just dont think people realize how bad/mediocre Val has been this year and if anything got worse from his rookie year. But I would only trade him if we got something significant back in return. Tyson Chandler or Kevin Love would look great on this team.

GD Old-Timey Member Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 Here's to us getting a backup PG through the draft so we can just let GV go We have three picks and three needs (Salmons replacement, backup big, backup C). Let's do this.
SpeedyGose Verified Member Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 We have three picks and three needs (Salmons replacement, backup big, backup C). Let's do this. backup big? I think we're good there. Hansbrough, Patterson and Amir is more than enough at PF. Did you mean backup PG?
GD Old-Timey Member Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 backup big? I think we're good there. Hansbrough, Patterson and Amir is more than enough at PF. Did you mean backup PG? Jesus, yes, I did. I shouldn't post while sleep deprived. Backup big, forward and PG.
SpeedyGose Verified Member Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 Holy s*** this unit...GV-Salmons-Demar-Novak-Hansbrough. Absolutely terrible out there
SpeedyGose Verified Member Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 Turns out Ross is pretty important...
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 DeRozan iso coming up..
SpeedyGose Verified Member Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 Lol, I will have no tears left
SpeedyGose Verified Member Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 f*** off with these ankle injuries...for real. At least it wasn't a Derozan iso
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 f*** off with these ankle injuries...for real. At least it wasn't a Derozan iso It's funny, they do such a good job sharing the ball, then when the game is on the line they abandon what makes them successful.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 When you let a meathead like Gortat drop 22 on you, you need help in the middle.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 Oh my f***ing god these fouls are nuts. Every single game.
