JohnnyLonghorn Verified Member Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 Rogers deserved the W today. Thems the breaks.
Arkadium Verified Member Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 Rogers deserved the W today. Thems the breaks. His control wasn't great, but he really kept them off-balance, that was the most impressive thing.
kgm1 Verified Member Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 What more can you ask of a starter than to go 6 scorless innings .after being a reliever most of the season . great job by Rogers and sorry that ALL, ALL of us on this board called you s*****
JohnnyLonghorn Verified Member Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 Rogers is a beast. 95mph fast ball 88mph slider and 82mph change up, that's some quality stuff. Nice to know we have a guy that can step in and start and give us a quality chance to win games. Who knows he might even be a viable 4th or 5th option next year when Josh Johnson leaves town.
Chappy Community Moderator Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 Rogers has really impressed me. He got into a few poor counts but he has the stuff to get guys out. Could be an option for the rotation next season if he keeps this up.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 Yeah I think Rogers is legit Great guy to have around these days
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 Think of all the marketing opportunities Rogers(company) will have if Rogers(player) becomes a stud.
DH12 Verified Member Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 A split would be like a series win for toronto but it will be tough to do tomorrow
8D Verified Member Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 You are definitely right on DeRosa batting too high and Rasmus too low, but Bautista SHOULD be batting second. Best OBP players should bat 1,2, and 4 with the one with the most power hitting 4th (EE) and the one with the least power first (Reyes). That leaves Bautista in the 2 Hole where he belongs. The 3 spot is the least important of the top 5 spots. Was this theory in a book, stat site, personal stat? curious about how the 3-hole is the worst of the top 5.

I'm not thick-minded and shallow enough to change my opinion on a player with every plate appearance and every outing. I never called Rogers s*****, just because he had the insanely dumb luck of allowing three home runs in a row. Of course you can't say the same for everybody else here as there are plenty of idiots that were even calling Bautista s*** over the last two weeks.

Give me a break no one predicted rogers who was never a good starter anywhere and was not even a good reliever for us would become this good a starter. You are one miserable douche, game thread is nearly a day old and you still take an opportunity to bash posters on this board in a weak attempt to prop yourself up, pathetic. Stop taking everything so personal, his point was most people never saw rogers becoming who he has, including you.
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 Hopefully in a few weeks we can see this.. Reyes Melky Jose Edwin Lind Rasums Lawrie JP/Thole Izturis/Boni
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 Was this theory in a book, stat site, personal stat? curious about how the 3-hole is the worst of the top 5. The 3 hole is basically the spot you're most likely to come up with 2 outs and no runners on. Not the best spot for your best hitter to hit in. But it honestly dont really matter as long as the best hitters are grouped together. If Bautista led off I honestly wouldnt care as long as the best 5 hitters are somewhere 1-5
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 Hopefully in a few weeks we can see this.. Reyes Melky Jose Edwin Lind Rasums Lawrie JP/Thole Izturis/Boni That lineup looked so good on paper to start the season. But only one hitter (Adam Lind) has exceeded expectations, while several (Lawrie, JPA, Bonifacio, Bautista) have underperformed compared to what we probably anticipated.
JohnnyLonghorn Verified Member Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 Yeah you take away those back to back to back HRs in the Rays game and Esmil still had a pretty quality start. The game was still very much within reach for the Blue Jays.
Metallijay Verified Member Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 I see, Metal, that you're still quoting my posts despite telling me several times that I'm on your ignore list. I know you're reading this, you loser, so get this one last time: I don't read your posts. I know you quote me because I have it configured to notify me when my posts get quoted, but I don't care what you have to say. I haven't responded to you in 2+ days and you're still posting to me as if you're desperate for my attention. I don't know what kind of inferiority complexes you suffer from but it has to take someone who has a complete lack of pride and dignity to continuously try to converse with people he says he doesn't care about and people who are apparently on his "ignore list" which we all know doesn't exist since you constantly quote and post towards people you've apparently blocked. Seriously, grow a pair. http://i.imgur.com/Ya6K7Jl.gif Typical ignore my point and go on the attack, you are a major herp derp with massive issues. Wasn't it funny how the game day thread was great and you were not around for most of it?
