    • Scott Feldman, Cubs (C prospect and a minor leaguer with upside)
    • Matt Garza, Cubs (2 C prospects and a throw in)
    • Bud Norris, Astros (B and C prospect and a throw in)
    • Jake Peavy 1, White Sox (Take on contract and deal 2 C prospects)
    • Jake Peavy 2, White Sox (Have Sox eat millions and deal a top prospect and a B-C prospect)

I've been reading somewhere between the $10M Hech got and the $42M deal Puig signed. It seems like he'll be up over $30M but others on here would know better than myself.

I just read on mlbtraderumors that it may be around $60M on a 5 year deal. If the Blue Jays fork up that much cash, they'd better tell him not to write "tu eres maricon" anywhere on his body.

It seems the Dodgers will be involved and with the success Yasiel Puig is having, there may not be anyone else who can outbid them.

Everything I've read said he should get less than Puig based on true talent. You never know what can happen, especially with the way the LAD have been spending their new TV deal.

I have heard on MLB radio that it is in the 50 to 60 mil range and that there are 5 or 6 teams looking hard including the Yankees , Dodgers and Jays

I also read the Red Sox are involved but won't go above a certain amount. Given the teams involved, it may become a bidding war and the price may even go above what's being rumored. We'll see what happens.

I would be 100% for this. Again, I use the AJ Burnett comp. JPR signed him 7 years ago for $55 M. Burnett was older (29 v 26), and the value of pitching has gone up since then. Of course, Burnett did have an MLB track record, but this is a risk I would take if it were my decision.

ITT: Kirksaw talks confidently about a bunch of stuff he'll likely be wrong about...again.

Ummm ok. Yep, I'm wrong. The O's got Feldman instead of Garza and the Cubs have only traded for $963,000 in international free agent slot money so far.

I will always speak with confidence but for sure I'll be wrong plenty when speculatating on player movement. I will never be wrong when I say that a team is interested in player XYZ because I'd never say so without knowing so. Btw, at least 80% of what I stated in this thread has been said by baseball writers all across America and has been posted on the Internet.

Just an FYI, I was the first person on the planet to report that AA was going to Tijuana to watch Gonzalez pitch last Friday. Try not to hate when someone is merely trying to share. :)

The Cubs got Arrieta and Strop, a 27 year old starter who has been bad for 2 years and a wild 28 year old reliever. While both have skills and upside, a C prospect and a minor leaguer with upside is probably better being that two 40-man roster slots don't get eaten and the players would be younger. The slot money was this deal and the Cubs even tossed in a backup catcher.
