dineke Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 never go full retard Anytime you get Lee, it's not full retard... unless you're referring to the fact that neither team would do that trade, then yes.
Sorrow Verified Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 Send down Loup if you want to see what you can keep on Perez until he gas cans or release Perez/Bonifacio as he's not providing anything to the team.
KSaw Verified Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 This works perfectly for us too. It gives AA time to evaluate both McGowan and Perez, both of whom were equally bad today, but more so Perez. McGowan threw 11 pitches and 8 were strikes. He struck out 2. The only hit was a meaningless mop up home run. He was bad?
KSaw Verified Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 Just DFA Perez. There will be multiple claims and several days to work a trade for a small return.
flafson Verified Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 If we DFA Perez and find the need for arms again, what then? We already pretty much stripped Buffalo of decent arms.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 Just DFA Perez. There will be multiple claims and several days to work a trade for a small return. Agree. Perez is surplus and is not part of the future.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 Just DFA Perez. There will be multiple claims and several days to work a trade for a small return. If anyone will give up anything for Perez, then absolutely that's the move to make... Otherwise, option Loup

JohnnyLonghorn Verified Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 I wish Reyes was coming up tomorrow. We never win series' in Tampa and this series we have a great shot with no Price/Cobb.
KSaw Verified Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 If anyone will give up anything for Perez, then absolutely that's the move to make... Otherwise, option Loup Perez has been so shut down that yes, a contending team that is short on relievers would probably give up a prospect and a decent one as long as he's years away and in A-ball.
KSaw Verified Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 By decent I am not talking top 30 in the organization or anything but good enough that his ceiling gives him a shot at being a fairly good MLB player one day.

backontop Verified Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 Why all of these silly so called rehab games in Buffalo? Is he on the pipe? For over 100 years of MLB when a player was ready to play, he resumed with the big league club. So krak is the reason why he is always smiling all of the time. Otherwise we need him as our lead off hitter vs. Tampa Bay tommorow night not wasting a proven .300 hitter playing in Buffalo.

Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 Agree. Perez is surplus and is not part of the future. or present. He suck

A 10th round highschool guy with upside and no polish from the draft last year and I'd be THRILLED.
flafson Verified Member Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 huh? Lincoln, stroman, carreno, etc Lincoln has mostly been a bust, can't handle any kind of pressure. Stroman suppose to be a starter someday so you don't touch him unless you need a starter. Carreno, as far as i saw from Buffalo scoreboards, has been alright but nothing more. So.... They won't have anyone if we send down Perez.
backontop Verified Member Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 This trade talk of Reyes shocks me! You don't normally trade an all star shortstop as we approach the All-Star game. But have you guys read something I haven't read? That would be exciting because I'm sure we would get a good player or two in return. I hope it happens, then I would have more faith in Beeston and AA, because this guy was ready to play at least two weeks ago, a sprained ankle, how many of you had one of those and he needs to miss almost two months? Most of us get over a sprained ankle in a week.

You cut it with a knife. "OMG You're such a wussy haha go cry baby, we both cut our finger's but you took longer to heal!" You're a child. Please leave.
backontop Verified Member Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 GSNARLS said"Its just a matter of time before a few batters start cooling off", Are you aware during are current winning streak, Cabreara and Bautista have been in very bad slumps, yes Jose got us a big key home run one game recently, but these two are due to pick up the pace so that if another couple Blue Jays go into slumps during are second 11 game winning streak (which would set a MLB winning streak record, 20, or 21 is the record.), that if two other guys go into slumps, Cabreara and Baustista should pick them up. Melkey was great in May but has gone back to his doldrums of making too many outs again. I know Jose will be back, but Melkey??? Gose can be a great game changer even if he only gets on base 1 of 4 times, he's a sure steal to second. If they counted steals like a hit with your batting ave, this 230 hitter could "hit/steal" .300. Lets bring him up and at least alternate with Melkey, because IMO I don't think Melkey is that much of a valuable left fielder.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 People talk about the lineup crunch with Reyes coming back. To me its pretty easy, swap Jose and Melky on the DL. Without any inside info about what is wrong with his Hammys, if 15 days off will help him then I think you do that. He is an average-driven player. He needs that +.300 average to make his OBP and SLG look good. Its got to be tough to put a good swing on the ball with legs like that, and he certainly isn't stretching any singles to doubles. We don't really lose anything playing Davis in his spot, but we have a lot to gain if we comes back healthy after 15 days.

He rarely turned singles in doubles, he is not a speedster

He rarely turned singles in doubles, he is not a speedster Its not that he is a big speedster normally, I was using that term in the way any player turns some amount of singles into doubles by simply pressing the issues (ie it will be close at 2nd). His gimpyness is hurting him in the field and on the bases. I'm sure its hurting his stroke at the dish as well.
