mellowgold Verified Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 Sorry if this is posted already but Kyle Drabek made his first start of the year tonight. Pitched 2.1 innings for Dundedin, 5 H, 2 ER 2 SO and unless there was a typo, 0 BB.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 Prospect sub forum. lol Drabek is hardly a prospect anymore. Anyways, keep this guy down in Buffalo until he is 100% ready. Painting the corners with all of his pitches (more breaking balls, less cutters plz) and limiting the walks. He should not even be on their radar. Anything they get from him is gravy.

If you take anything from a first game back from TJ surgery, then your nuts.

Yup, with the Ricky Ro has been pitching recently, Drabek is off the charts, but amazing pitching depth nonetheless
mellowgold Verified Member Posted June 23, 2013 Author Posted June 23, 2013 Yeah it's weird. Suddenly we are neck-deep in legitimate SP options, especially once Morrow, Happ and Hutch get healthy. Dickey Johnson Morrow Buehrle Rogers Wang Romero Happ Hutchison Drabek Jenkins

Dickey Johnson Morrow Buehrle Rogers Wang Romero Happ Hutchison Drabek Jenkins You kind of have to be as pessimistic as possible when assessing injuries. Dickey is injured it's obvious. Johnson is a walking chandelier and Morrow may not be back for the rest of the year. Buehrle... okay, kinda awesome. Rogers probably won't have the stamina to start for much longer. Wang could gas can. Romero is still walking 3 guys in 6 innings in Buffalo. Happ is coming off a horrendous injury. Hutchison and Drabek are coming back off of TJS and are young and you can't count on that. And Jenkins is quite likely to gas can. Also, some guys you left out: Nolin blew up, Stroman isn't someone you should *depend* on, Deck McGuire is complete s***, etc. I don't really like our depth.

dineke Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 . <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< A lot more depth if this guy comes here.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 Wow,pessimism in a whole new light. You have to be, because when you assume the best in depth, you get last year. McGowan won't be injured! Drabek won't blow up! Etc.

I left out Nolin, Stroman and McGuire because I was trying to list legitimate options.
