Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 Buehrle and JJ 7 QS of the last 8 outings
havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 Holy f*** man. Can you not enjoy what we have going here You should have had that guy on ignore from the beginning.
Caper Verified Member Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 won't ever stop me. I guess there is some kind of honor in that... or whatever.

DH12 Verified Member Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 It's nice to see of course but it still doesn't negate their horrible start.
DH12 Verified Member Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 You have to be realistic. If you get too hyped up again on this winning streak you will crash back to reality when the streak ends. And then reality will set in that indeed they have to go on a pace of a least .600 baseball the rest of this year. Very very hard to do
jaysfaithful8 Verified Member Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 It's nice to see of course but it still doesn't negate their horrible start. It could in 3 games. Keep the streak going to .500 and beyond!
Caper Verified Member Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 Make no mistake, I still don't want him around past this year. With the team playing well no one's being as vocal but I'd say most people would still want him fired regardless if they're vocalizing it right now. I wouldn't say that at all. Not saying they are right... But if the team plays well and makes the playoffs, no one wants AA fired.... Except a small minority of spreadsheet warriors... who behind a computer screen are absolutely positive they can build the St. Louis Cardinals.... Like it's just that easy.
Shogun89 Verified Member Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 Only gets better with Reyes coming back soon too We're going to win the World Series then crown AA King of Canada
DH12 Verified Member Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 The most positive thing is that it ups the value of the players so that AA can be a seller at the deadline and get some real value in return

I'll be happy if they can make it interesting... especially with the start.

Very very hard to do There are countless examples of teams making the playoffs when they were .500 at the all-star break. If this team gets to .500 by the break then they have a shot.

Very very hard to do Very very hard for a team of lesser talent to do With the talent on the Jays firing on all cylinders as they are starting to, its not so difficult
Caper Verified Member Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 He definitely wont be a seller I think you can do both. As crazy at it sounds, you might be able to get something for Janssen, that can help them more then it hurts.
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 Very very hard for a team of lesser talent to do With the talent on the Jays firing on all cylinders as they are starting to, its not so difficult just because they played under their potential for more than a month doesn't mean they will play above it later. it's really hard to make up so many games. it would be cool, but I wouldn't bank on it.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 Sellers to buyers Utley for Aaron Sanchez coming soon

The reason being to get to the playoffs now not only do you have to play well the teams above you must play poorly. Odds of both occurring are slim

Odds of both occurring are slim especially when 2 of the 4 teams you are trying to pass are playing each other most nights so someone is always winning to stay ahead.

Metallijay Verified Member Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 Some people on this forum I am sure want the jays to lose... god forbid we enjoy this recent streak and the fact that yes they are not much closer to being relevant in the WC race. Lots of games left and morrow and reyes are back soon. Negative nancies.

Lots of games left and morrow and reyes are back soon. Negative nancies. Of course there are. Tonnes of people want to brag about how much they hate AA and how much they hated the trades... blah, blah, blah.... So they want the team to lose.

I love them winning, just wish they had started with this kind of fire in April and waiting until you are 10 games back before you give a s*** is kind of unprofessional.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 Good example would be Rick Porcello. Or Nick Castellanos.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 Or Nick Castellanos. I think Porcello would make more of an immediate impact. If he can keep his K/9 over 7, that is.
JFD Old-Timey Member Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 All of a sudden, no calls for AA's head at this rate everyone will want to give him head
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 I think Porcello would make more of an immediate impact. If he can keep his K/9 over 7, that is. No, he can't keep it.
DH12 Verified Member Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 Jays I believe are not as bad as they played in the first part of the year and not as good as they are playing during this winning streak. They are somewhere in the middle probably about a .500 ball club which is where I predict they will finish.
admin Site Manager Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 Very slim odds we make the playoffs. They'll play good enough to make us get excited again, then disappoint us as we just miss the playoffs.
