Notes:

 

Rockies::

  • Michael Cuddyer has been a great veterin player for the Rockies, with a 14 game hit streak (.383 and 2 homers) that helps his BA rise to .337 (along with 10 big flys) and gives the Rockies one of the strongest outfield in baseball with CarGo and Fowler hitting well too. With his ability to play 1B too, he can also provide them with a solid option at 1B when Helton retires if they need to fit another outfielder everyday.
  • Fowler has hit well against Johnson with a 4/6 line and two doubles
  • Both teams come into this game with winnings streaks. The Jays finished a 4 game sweep of the Rangers and a White Sox victory last week gives the Jays a 5 game winning streak, while de la Rosa will try to push the Rockies win streak to 3 games.

 

Jays:

  • Since the Jays found themselves 11 games under .500 (10-21) they turned things around in a good way, so good that they own the best AL record in that timeframe of 22-15.
  • Since coming off the DL, Johnson has 2 starts with 3 or less runs given up. He has been dealing with a blister on his finger, but he has the green light to pitch tonight
  • The Jays have a 12-0 record against the Rockies, sweeping them in three-game series twice in both 2002 and 2007 each.
  • Guess what's popping in Dunedin, Florida? They have a leadoff hitter by the name 'Jose Reyes' and a starting pitcher by the name of 'Brandon Morrow' in their game tonight! While Morrow doesn't seem to have a limit as of yet, Jose Reyes is only playing for 5-6 innings. Gibbons expects both players to move up a level in their rehab assignments before being activated
  • JA Happ is expected to throw a side session in the next few days.

Hopefully Johnson shows up tonight and pitches like he's supposed to. This guy has been pretty much invisible so far this year.

Best team in the AL over the past 37 games is shocking. It's amazing what a 5 game win streak can accomplish, hopefully they keep it going tonight.

Yeah, it's just Zaun though. He really shouldn't be taken seriously :P

 

Although he has a point about Wang, he's pitched well in AAA and so far in the MLB, he should keep his spot until Happ comes off the DL. Rogers shouldn't have to kill his arm, we can use his 'Villy-utility' style later on in the season if something goes wrong again

Eh, not concerning, how is his velo I wonder? That and versatility is all that matters in the rehab stints right now

Got a feeling CarGo goes deep at least twice tonight. I don't care what anyone says about Trout. This guy is the most exciting player in baseball. He is the definition of a 5 tool superstar. Best player in the game in my opinion.
