eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 Cecil looks like he's 20 yeara old again. His turnaround is amazing. Obviously SSS but the velo is undeniable. Assuming this means he is prohibited from helping non-Jays from now on?

ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 Get him working with Sanchez right away to help him with that "minor" shoulder muscle problem that's kept him out for a month.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 Amazing how baseball will believe is some programs and not other strengthening programs. Jaeger sports comes to mind
Anemic0ffense Verified Member Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 Cecil is arguably a top 3 reliever in all of baseball this year... He's been that good I approve of the hire
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 Best FIP among lefty relievers. Cecil is the man. Sell high I say, maybe there's a GM willing to give up a good young position player for him or him +, you do it.
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 Sell high I say, maybe there's a GM willing to give up a good young position player for him or him +, you do it. Why would anyone give a good young player for a loogy?
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 Why would anyone give a good young player for a loogy? I said maybe and also said him+. I don't think it's likely, but I do think the blue jays will have to trade some of the bullpen arms they have with the guys coming back off the 60-day dl.
Tuco Verified Member Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 Sell high I say, maybe there's a GM willing to give up a good young position player for him or him +, you do it. It would make more sense to sell high on Janssen.
JFD Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 seems like a good move considering what Cecil has done
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 This is awesome news Thanks for sharing
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 It would make more sense to sell high on Janssen. Oh no problem with that. Anyway wrong thread for this.
kgm1 Verified Member Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 Sell high I say, maybe there's a GM willing to give up a good young position player for him or him +, you do it. Can't disagree with that move . Selling high on a piece that luis Perez could replace but first i want Oliver gone
DwightDM Verified Member Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 Wow, this is really cool. Love the move.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 Why would anyone give a good young player for a loogy? I dunno, why would Mozeliak give up Rasmus for Rzep? I think Cecil's more valuable to us than anyone else. Great hire on Evans. Hopefully guys like Osuna and Hutch and Sanchez and EVERYONE will stop getting injured so f***ing much.
backontop Verified Member Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 Jamie Evans huh? I originally came up with the idea of throwing weighted baseballs when I was in High School. It worked, but I made the mistake most people make, "who do I think I am? I could never pitch in the Major Leagues" How you BELEIVE has stopped so many people from being great at many things! Remember a once great man once said if you THINK you can or THINK you can't, you are right. I wish I would have known that fact when I was young.
Chappy Community Moderator Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 This is good news, hopefully it will work out well.
ace3113 Verified Member Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 http://gregorchisholm.mlblogs.com/ Very astute hiring in my opinion. Hopefully the program can help keep our guys healthy.

Assuming this means he is prohibited from helping non-Jays from now on? Not as amazing as it seems. http://www.fangraphs.com/pitchfxo.aspx?playerid=2660&position=P&pitch=FA Look in 2012, mid 2012 was when he was a starter, end of 2012 is when he was moved to the bullpen. You see his velocity isn't much different than this year.
backontop Verified Member Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 This guy has already done what he can for Cecil and Delibar if I understand this thread correctly. It would be bigger news if when Reyes comes back that the Blue Jays hire Kawaski as the coach to teach the rest of out hitters how to draw walks. Especially speedsters like Bonifacio, when you have a man on second after walking, 90% of the time he will score AND there will be no double play, when you have a man on third with less then two outs there are 13 ways he can score. Any readers know those 13 ways he can score?

GD Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 lol I can't even laugh about that. It's just saddening.

Ya your idea would just hurt the arm more than a regular ball. The whole point of the delabar program is that you dont release the ball.
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 Cecil has a 0.9 war per Fangraphs. Simply amazing
