fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 Esmil Rogers went 7 strong innings, capping off his 3rd straight start with his first starter's W of the year! The starter went 7 innings of 1 run ball to give the Jays the W in Arlington, giving him only 2 ER in 14+ Innings as a starter! Offence wasn't too good but we did cash in 3 runs on 4 hits and a Texas error! Scoring Plays: Bottom of the 2nd: Rangers score (Rangers lead 1-0): Nelson Cruz belted out his 16th homer of the year to right field Top of the 3rd: Jays score (tied 1-1): Melky Cabrera singles to right fielder Nelson Cruz, Bonifacio scores! Top of the 8th: Jays score (Jays lead 3-1): Edwin Encarnacion hits a double to left, Bonifacio and Bautista plate Box Scores: http://i.imgur.com/l5D6EF8.png http://i.imgur.com/rgJV6uq.png

bzapple Verified Member Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 Damn, you worked quickly on this one bro Rogers continues to be very solid as a spot starter. Hitting the corners well, and the curveball has been excellent. About time this starting rotation caught a break. Also have to acknowledge Delabar's awesome 8th inning; that was some nasty stuff.
backontop Verified Member Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 Could Rogers become a solid starter for the rest of this year, and maby next year? Or have the A.L. Hitters just ignored his scouting reports because he is not that well known? I hope it is the former, some guys are thought of as not being that good, but when given a chance, proove who they really are. I myself in April thought this guy back in April was only here for a cup of coffee, and maby Gibbons too, thinking, "Oh will let this little sh-- pitch then send him down to the minors, but now he has gained a lot of respect from Gibbons.

Yeah, I didn't have the luxury of watching the game, I was studying for exams. But I finished my study period as Jannsen had one out so I did this as he was closing it out Could Rogers become a solid starter for the rest of this year, and maby next year? Or have the A.L. HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 If you told me Rogers would hold the Rangers to 1 run in 7 innings before this season started...
