Come on. For like a year I was saying that we were reading too much into pitch framing, and that it was quite possible to see the numbers reverse when the next report came out.

I gotta toot my own horn a little on this bit of vindication.

You're right! All hail Greenwood! He can do no wrong!

Tell us Adam, what's our best estimate of JPA's true talent pitch framing abilities?

Hint: Saying it's "Good" because of raw, uncorrected, unregressed data from this season is incorrect.

I would like to see him genuinely attempt to change his plate approach. Almost looks like he has vision problems. He can actually get himself in decent hitters counts. There is still some potential there IMO... But it's hard to see that changing anytime soon.

Maybe he should try the Tony Batista stance.

That's true. But there's also the effect of the strike zone expanding in hitters' counts. Umps will call a larger strike zone than the pitch f/x one in counts such as 3-1, and Jays pitchers get in a lot of those.

Buck just said the blue jays lead the majors in first pitch balls percentage. Just sayin'...

JPA good at pitch framing? Who told you that Zaun? The only thing JPA is good at is striking out. Rasmus is 6th in the league, he has to be behind JPA......I should Google the top ten strike out hitters as of the middle of June 2013. The health care workers work so hard for the Jays, yet ignore eye sight. At least Rasmus & Arencebia either need glasses or must go. Notice how AFRAID Gibbons is in putting Thole ahead of JPA unless Dickey is pitching. I wish baseball managers were more like NFL football coaches.
