mitchf Verified Member Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 You mean all the hate and anger surrounding this trade was warranted? Go figure!
Howard Roark Verified Member Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 The A's wanted Syndergaard for Gio and wouldn't budge on that (http://blogs.thescore.com/djf/2011/12/29/blair-the-as-wanted-syndergaard-for-gio/) But no, Syndergaard was too important to our future. So important that... he was the second piece in a deal for a 38-year-old shitbag. I seriously STILL want to bitchslap that obese Greek f***wit into a coma over that farce of a trade and it's been, what, 8 months? Just completely inexplicable. I'm still struggling to figure out his logic on that one and am coming up empty.

Buster Verified Member Posted July 12, 2013 Author Posted July 12, 2013 Mets GM: "No thanks" *snicker* Not a chance. The Mets didn't want to extend Dickey at the rate we gave him, so I imagine they wouldn't trade anything at all to get him back. I was completely joking...but that didn't come through. Although it's pretty telling that the Mets wouldn't even give us one prospect equivalent to those guys.
Anemic0ffense Verified Member Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 On the bright side, there's no way Dickey can be this bad next year, right? I mean yeah he'll be a year older, but this has just been a putrid year for Dickster
RickyWalks Verified Member Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 After today's start he'll be at either 0.6 or 0.7 WAR trough 20 starts. At this point 1.5 WAR is about as optimistic as we can get, and that would be a ~$7 million surplus value on his contract. You think d'Arnaud and Syndergaard make that up? lol The way the Jays develop talent?
