Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 Blue Jays recall recent waiver claim RHP Thad Weber and option LHP Sean Nolin back to AA per team.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2013 Author Posted May 25, 2013 No Carreno, Thad Weber is the guy Another garbage RP

Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 lol are we going to break the league record for most player moves in a season? Also break a record for most pitchers to throw at least one pitch in a season?
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2013 Author Posted May 25, 2013 Did Carreno piss off someone within the FO or something? Carreno 24.1 IP, 11 H, 8 walks, 42 K's 1.85 FIP, 0.73 xFIP 15.53 K/9 2.96 BB/9
mitchf Verified Member Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 AA must have liked his name. Hard to blame him, it's pretty cool.
BabbaGanoush Verified Member Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 Pathetic. I wish I lived in St.Louis
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 Weber has a grand total of 9 innings this year. no expect him to be more than a BP arm who gets one look and then gone. 3 games 9.0 inngs k 6 BB 5 ERA 2
The_DH Verified Member Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 I guess give him a shot, if he fails then waivers it is.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 who doesn't love a righty reliever that can't get right handed hitters out.
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 who doesn't love a righty reliever that can't get right handed hitters out. he'll get shelled for 5 runs getting only 1 out and then be optioned back to the rock he was under.
Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 I wonder what happened to michael schwimer (or whatever the f*** his name is, I don't care)
mitchf Verified Member Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 I wonder what happened to michael schwimer (or whatever the f*** his name is, I don't care) He threw two hitless innings on Thursday. There goes the name theory. Schwimer beats Thad. AA must not like his ERA of 0, because in this case it comes with 5 walks in 5 innings.
theblujay Verified Member Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 Why do we continue to go with scrub reliever after scrub reliever instead of someone good like Carreno?
oakville69 Verified Member Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 lol are we going to break the league record for most player moves in a season? Also break a record for most pitchers to throw at least one pitch in a season? I think we are close to having more pitchers used than last year. Perhaps Beeston can organize a "flashback friday" at Rogers Centre in 2014 for all the pitchers used in 2012 & 2013. ? It's very frustrating that AA constantly goes through the waiver wire & gives these guys 1 start, then DFA's them. Isn't there anyone in AAA than can come up for a couple of starts?? Ortiz hasn't been that horrible while he has been here.
oakville69 Verified Member Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 Carreno 24.1 IP, 11 H, 8 walks, 42 K's 1.85 FIP, 0.73 xFIP 15.53 K/9 2.96 BB/9 Those numbers look OK. I think Carreno may have made a couple of starts for the blue jays last year.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 I wonder what happened to michael schwimer (or whatever the f*** his name is, I don't care) Coming off an injury so they're probably still letting him get his reps in AAA, I'd assume Weber is a placeholder for him.
Arkadium Verified Member Posted May 26, 2013 Posted May 26, 2013 Thad Weber is cannon fodder, absolute hogwash. I wish AA would stop being an idiot, it's truly frustrating.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 26, 2013 Posted May 26, 2013 Weber had a 2.12 FIP for the Tucson (?) Padres in AAA in ~34 IP. That number is the best FIP in all of AAA. I think.
over500 Verified Member Posted May 26, 2013 Posted May 26, 2013 Weber has 1 inning to impress AA or he's waived.
CHRIS Verified Member Posted May 26, 2013 Posted May 26, 2013 It will be pretty cool to tell my grandkids that I saw the Thad Weber era from the beginning.

GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 26, 2013 Posted May 26, 2013 Replacement level A) Above Below a f***ing simple question Answer: C.) None of the above; much much much below I'm trying to stay positive but it's not going well lol
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted May 26, 2013 Author Posted May 26, 2013 Answer: C.) None of the above; much much much below I'm trying to stay positive but it's not going well lol Jenkins 3.2IP, 5ER - back to AA Weber 1.1IP, 4ER - DFA Lincoln 2IP, 2ER - Stay in the bullpen Rogers 2IP, 1ER - Stay in the bullpen Jays needs score +12 runs to Win this
GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 26, 2013 Posted May 26, 2013 Why we haven't stretched Lincoln out is beyond me
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted May 26, 2013 Posted May 26, 2013 Why we haven't stretched Lincoln out is beyond me way too easy and absolutely too smart of a thing to do. AA wants to cut his balls off just to prove he wont break a promise. I just hope that once he Bobbit's himself, can we move on to bigger and better things
