9 days of rust... He ended up getting the job done, and at least he didn't have that kinda outing with only a 1 run lead.

Good to see them finally capitalize on a bases loaded opportunity, especially with two outs. Tough outing for Janssen but whatever, everyone has their off days.

 

Odorizzi's curveball was pretty nice, but his fastball looks really straight so I expect he'll be prone to giving up home runs. Like every Rays pitcher though, he showed good polish and command so he'll probably be at least a decent #4. They never have any Drabeks who can't find the strike zone, or McGowans who can't stay on the mound.

Had to win this one to have a chance on Wednesday of winning this series as I don't see the Blue Jays' offense getting to Cobb.

 

Escobar looks to be in better shape than last year.

I've only seen him once, against the Red Sox, and he looked terrific, good stuff with good command of his pitches. I'd like to see the Jays let Nolin and Hutchison, once he's healthy, finish the year in AAA and not call them up till September if at all.

Cobb is damn good. Medlen and him will join to the top-rotación guys group

Decent game for dickey and some HUGE 2 out hits!!

 

Biggest thing I took away from this game was escobar crossing the plate and making the safe sign to the crowd.. as he was rounding the bases my dad said i wonder what classless escobar will do here...

Blanco had a good game at the plate... We won't be seeing Thole as long as JP is our starter unless he gets hurt... Can't have thole here sitting on the bench. 5-6 games a week. sadly

Yeah, he did a great job clogging the bases. That's what happens when you don't take a huge hack at a pitch in the dirt with an 0-2 count. Blanco can't do anything right.
