declan_44 Verified Member Posted May 20, 2013 Author Posted May 20, 2013 If I were betting on the overall home stand record, I would probably go with a losing record. I certainly hope I am wrong, but the only favorable pitching matchup against the Rays is the first game. The O's series could go either way, and I am not liking our chances against the Braves. That being said, if this team has any prayer of pulling off a winning home stand they almost certainly have to take the first game against the Rays. I might head down to the game if I wake up early enough in the morning. Hellickson has been pretty bad so far this season, I think there are quite a few pitchers in these series the bats can beat up on (Opefully more than the opposition knocks our guys).
declan_44 Verified Member Posted May 20, 2013 Author Posted May 20, 2013 6-3....2 from Tampa, 3 from Baltimore and a split against the Braves! That's what I was thinking too.
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 6-3 to me is the minimum they have to do to to have much of a chance. If they're truly gonna make a run, they'll have to start with this homestand and look at the 2 losses at NY as a bump on the road. They will also need to dominate at home the rest of the way, at least they've won 3 in a row at home now, so that's a good sign, they've also mashed in those 3 games, but I probably just jinxed them. This homestand will take them to June and if they do well, they could get JJ back and then it would only be 1 big hole in the starting rotation, of course, I'm assuming the big acquisitions don't continue stinking. On the other hand, this organization might be better off getting a top 5 draft pick, but knowing them, they'll blow it plus Rogers may never spend this much again if it fails so miserably.
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 That's what I was thinking too. if they go 4-5 or 3-6 they will be done by the end of june. they have to make up at least 1 game every week.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 Yes agreed, here's to hoping the Birds tee off on Odorizzi, game 1 and 3 of this series seem attainable. +1, I see us blowing up Odorizzi today.

GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 So in other words, Odorizzi will dominate our lineup.... Nah, we'll score 8 off of Odorizzi but we'll give up 14.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 So far? So good... With a sample size of 1, I can safely say that we can extrapolate this out to say that the Jays will never lose another baseball game! GO TEAM!
Chappy Community Moderator Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 One down. This team needs to secure the series tomorrow, no more f***ing around.

GO TEAM! lulz, for real. And whoever gets the prediction right in this thread wins 5 internetz!
Chappy Community Moderator Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 Gotta keep this pace up. Now 9-6 in the last 15 games which is right about the pace this team needs maintain the rest of the way.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 2-1 against Rays 2-2 against O's ____ 4-3
Metallijay Verified Member Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 The injuries to Johnson, Happ came at a bad time, just when this team could inch closer and closer to .500, the next few series are important.Don't like the fact we have a rookie and jenkins going the next 2 games.

It's going to come down to the bats right now and things seem to be getting better on that front. Need to win 3 games minimum this series.
