Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 WTF is up with Gose? He has shown improvement (12.4% walk and 22.5% K) but BABIP monster is killing him (.231/.341/.336) Marisnick .241/.295/.389 4.9% walk and 23% K
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2013 Author Posted May 18, 2013 Slumps happen. But it doesn't bode well.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 Slumps happen. But it doesn't bode well. Gose .231/.341/.336 + Speed + Defense = 3WAR
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 Slumps happen. But it doesn't bode well. Yeah, worrisome, but at least he'll turn 23 later on during the season. His BB% is very positive. Promote Pillar and Burns, see how they do at a higher level!
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2013 Author Posted May 18, 2013 Yeah, worrisome, but at least he'll turn 23 later on during the season. His BB% is very positive. You probably won't see any promos until after the all star breaks in each respective level.
OtisNixonFan Verified Member Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 I love the scrappy vibe I'm getting with Pillar. Perhaps a Grinder? Someone in the mold of Reed Johnson/Sam Fold? I say promote em. If he proves he can handle a couple months at AAA , call him up,we could use a little obp. Great dh/LF against a tough lefty.
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 Yeah I just responded to you in another thread. I just think that, given their age vs level, the Jays may promote them to a level where they'd be playing against players their age. What do you think the chances are of Burns being tried at 2B given that he was drafted at SS? I'm sure they already gave this some thought or even tried it in instructs since he's playing 3B, but what the heck, what else is there to talk about that's more interesting with the Blue Jays? All we can do is look forward to next year...again.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2013 Author Posted May 18, 2013 He played 2B a bit last year with the majority of games at SS. So far this year he's mainly been 3b. Maybe they don't like his range enough for a middle IF position. Pure speculation on my part though. I know they just moved Shane Opitz up to Dunedin from Lansing and he would probably be who they want to get the most reps at SS. 2B is covered by Berti at the moment, I think he's playing 3B just because they need him to at Dunedin.
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 I read where he sat out the year before being drafted or something so he might've been a higher-round pick in terms of talent. Anyway, just trying to find some postives and he seems to be a big positive so far.
Arjun Nimmala Vancouver Canadians - A+ SS It's been slow going at the start of the season for Nimmala, but on Sunday, he was 3-for-5 with his 3rd home run and 3 RBI. Explore Arjun Nimmala News >
