Caper Verified Member Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 Ok... It's not really called that but Delabar seems to be the poster child, so it works for me. I thought it deserved it's own thread, because of injuries I'm seeing in the system. The questions I want to ask the experts is.... Does it work? Or is it mostly just hype? .... and the answer is yes, then, should the entire Jays org pitching staff be on it? I's seeing Chad Jenkins just back from shoulder soreness. Osuna out with elbow soreness.... and last year there was plethora of young pitchers go down with season ending injuries. So I read this article last week on D-Mac “So far it’s been awesome,” said McGowan, who pitched in two extended spring-training games last week and should begin a minor-league rehab assignment next week. “I pitched yesterday and today, no soreness whatsoever.” McGowan said he’s also noticed “a little more zip” on his pitches. I have only heard of a few cases. I don't know if the program is what really brought Delabar to the majors.... but for a guy whose elbow is held together by screws and was a gym teacher, for him to get back.. that's pretty huge. Brett Cecil's velocity has definitely improved and now D-mac MAY make it back to the majors............. Hypothetically, if D-Mac makes it back to he bigs and sticks.... which is a huge if... but if it did happen.... That would be all the evidence I need to put the entire Jays pitching staff on the program.

GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 Anything that lets D-Mac get back to the Bigs is impressive for me. I looked into it, it's like $500.
Sparky12 Verified Member Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 When is Dusty scheduled to start throwing minor league games anyways?

Caper Verified Member Posted May 11, 2013 Author Posted May 11, 2013 They should put just about everyone on this program. Romero, Janssen, Buehrle, Morrow, etc. I'm super impressed. If DMac comes back.. and sticks... Then every single pitcher in org should be put on it.

It's interesting that we really haven't seen starters go on the program. I also wonder what the long term effects of the different weights on the arm might be. It might make the arm stronger, or it might lead to more injuries. Still, considering the injury issues we've had I'm not sure there's much to lose, but definitely a lot to gain.
