No. The catcher can talk to the pitcher as much as he wants, the fielders can throw the ball around as much as they want without pitching it... But if we did delay the game for hours, MLB would probably implement a rule.

 

I always wondered this myself, if you're an intense competitor you might just throw over infinitely

Napoli is slow, this teams middle infield D is horrendous, a decent throw gets 2 there, something has to be done with this infield defense, its costing us games.

The best we can hope for is that a lot of these guys come trade deadline are having great individual years, Bautista, Encarnacion, Dickey, Johnson etc. and that they could bring prospects back in a sell of so that a new rebuild can take place

Just throw it to first for two hours until the Red Sox have to take Lester out of the game due to the delay.

 

there was one video game where if I kept throwing over eventually I'd get the pick off against the computer
