Vdubfan Verified Member Posted August 3, 2013 Posted August 3, 2013 Ya, he's only one so far that can be argued for.
havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2013 Posted August 3, 2013 Possibly cardsmojo. Possibly. I feel like they would all be welcome in a Ruben Amaro led front office.
DH12 Verified Member Posted August 3, 2013 Posted August 3, 2013 Lately his throwing arm looks terrible
DH12 Verified Member Posted August 3, 2013 Posted August 3, 2013 Remember also that the season for the Jays is basically over. That takes pressure off players and many times they play better under those circumstances.
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted August 3, 2013 Posted August 3, 2013 Remember also that the season for the Jays is basically over. That takes pressure off players and many times they play better under those circumstances. Not really, players are still playing for their contracts. And if that is the case, why did Rasmus go into the tank last year in the 2nd half when the Jays were out of it?
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 Did Rasmus bang your sister or something? I think so but I don't know why he would be mad about it. If I was him I would be praying for him to get my sister pregnant so I can get my hands on some of that Rasmus cash.
sachmo55 Verified Member Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 Hey man, don't quote that guy......I was doing fine not ever seeing any of his derp burger. That goes for all of you. The only clown I have on ignore. The ignore option here is so beautiful lol
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 If anyone is interested, they're now making fun of the idea that wins cost 10 million per on the market. That thread has been my entertainment all evening. Closely following. lol.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 I really can't even believe that these are real people. LOL. Our Boy with another hit.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 I really can't even believe that these are real people. These actually can't be real people. I'm pretty sure they're all just Dogg f***ing with us.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 It fascinates me that they're this stupid. Thank jeebus this board exists.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 Did that Gandhi f***er just insinuate that Jon f***ing Jay is of equal or greater talent than Andrew McCutchen? What in the actual f***?
sachmo55 Verified Member Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 It fascinates me that they're this stupid. Thank jeebus this board exists. Worst part is that their Front Office is so damn good that they'll keep winning and that message board will never have to understand their own ignorance
GD Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 Worst part is that their Front Office is so damn good that they'll keep winning and that message board will never have to understand their own ignorance Morons don't deserve that FO
sachmo55 Verified Member Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 Morons don't deserve that FO Its almost unbearable reading, its like a playground argument ... absolutely devoid of logic
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 As much as that front office is excelling now, their last 2 WS were a bit of a fluke. Either team shouldnt have even made the playoffs to begin with..dont tell those nimrods that though
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 I stopped reading after about 10 posts..everything is "WE WON A WS..HA HA YOU GUYS ARE IN LAST". My personal favourite is the dumbass who uses Colby's team standings and his order in the batting order ( yes you read that correctly) to dismiss him as a good player. BTS is trying to point out real numbers like DIPS and WS value, while they repeat the same old look at the standings garbage. Why would anyone try to have a conversation with people who cant form a single rational thought.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 "-BTS took the Lord's name in vane. He could us a healin." A religious debate is exactly what that thread needs lol.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 I seem to have greatly upset that MrXray guy. It's kind of amusing to see how worked up they get when we mention actual facts.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 I seem to have greatly upset that MrXray guy. And now Colby is our young player around which we'll to build a dynasty lol Colby > Lawrie
Vdubfan Verified Member Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 Given that that is how STL fans are, I'm not sure how a bunch of Canadians came to understand the nuances of Front Office Baseball so well. I love it for this board's sake, I just can't believe how much better baseball discussion is had here vs long-time, traditional American baseball markets.

You may strike out but at least you hit opposite field once a while and you are more clutch than some who dare not be defiled on this forum, JB, tho a stat queen will attack, I am sure

GNick Verified Member Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 I wish Rasmus could hit home plate...every throw ends up closer to 3b than c
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 "he doesn't realize that his war is only this high this year because so many centerfielders are having bad seasons." This is my favourite so far. I like all those guys going "THE BLOO JAEZ R BAD!!!!!!" as if that completely voids Rasmus' season. I laughed hysterically when you posted "Anyway, I'm out. I thought at least one poster would admit that a guy with 4 WAR 109 games is indeed having a pretty good year, but your objectivity is obviously still lacking. Maybe we'll revisit at the end of the year when he finishes top-10 and someone can admit that he was a top-10 CF in 2013?" lulz. What does the Jays' colossal failure of a season have anything to do with how good Rasmus has been?

What does the Jays' colossal failure of a season have anything to do with how good Rasmus has been? I would try and trade Rasmus while value is high. Where his seasons always been extreme good or extreme bad. He's due for huge raise....Once he gets big contract....high risk Vernon Wells 2.0
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 Jesus Christ. Why are you still slumming it there? Lol, some old fart on there started his anti saber stuff and whined about two plays by Jon Jay that don't show up on the stat sheet...except that saber stats give a tangible value to those events. I pointed this out and he just said I failed massively at trying to educate him. Old people are the worst.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted August 8, 2013 Posted August 8, 2013 "Let's talk about Colby's eigenvalue. I see something of low degree and constantly swapping direction. That is a joke. The point of the joke is that when you start getting into abstractions and these statistical contraptions that move you further and further away from the field you forget what is actually happening in real time. Then as you tool around a whirl of numbers, which might theoretically give weight to a player's value where there is none, you find that you no longer see or care about the game and end up cheering over a number that is not a W. You become less a baseball fan and more of a fan of stats. You guys have reduced yourselves to cheering about WAR. If you ever get a chance to step back and examine what that means you might feel a little sheepish. And that's when Okie will sneak up behind you." I am really amused by how many of these braindead downies are laughing at us little Canadians and our lack of understanding while spewing out crap like this. This is a well stated post in the land of the True Cardinals.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted August 8, 2013 Posted August 8, 2013 It's really fascinating, how they can be this stupid.
