metafour Verified Member Posted June 19, 2015 Posted June 19, 2015 Hollon is going to be a huge breakout prospect this year. There was a time when he was arguably the best HS pitcher in his class. He's got a great arm.
Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted June 19, 2015 Posted June 19, 2015 When's Pentecost gonna be in the line up?

strochez Verified Member Posted June 19, 2015 Posted June 19, 2015 Side note: Adam Loewen, Canadian and former Blue Jay has struck out 10 batters in 4 innings in their series against Buffalo.

Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted June 19, 2015 Posted June 19, 2015 Side note: Adam Loewen, Canadian and former Blue Jay has struck out 10 batters in 4 innings in their series against Buffalo. He's back to pitching?
BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted June 19, 2015 Posted June 19, 2015 Was Hollon injured last year? What the FYI on him ?
DuckDuckGose Verified Member Posted June 19, 2015 Posted June 19, 2015 Hollon had Tommy John and is just coming back now. Great prospect and of that Jays' draft class (Bickford, Hollon, Murphy, Smith, Lietz, Boyd, Greene, Graveman and Brentz) he is quite possibly the best arm of the bunch. http://www.bluebirdbanter.com/2014/5/19/5732966/clinton-hollon-to-have-tommy-john-surgery
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 19, 2015 Posted June 19, 2015 He's back to pitching? Yeah, he's pitching for team Canada in the Pan-Am games, as is Francis.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted June 19, 2015 Posted June 19, 2015 He's back to pitching? Pretty amazing that he still has the stuff to strike out 10 guys. Get him on the Delabar program, stick him as a lefty reliever and we got the next Andrew Miller bitches.

KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted June 19, 2015 Posted June 19, 2015 He's Phillie property. NL is a good place for him. Could be a great asset there as a pitcher with a replacement level bat.
spats Verified Member Posted June 19, 2015 Posted June 19, 2015 I was pretty surprised when I heard that. I know he gave it up because he had a stress fracture in his elbow and there was a serious concern that it could be a repeat injury so he walked away from the mound. Maybe several years of no pitching has allowed it to heal 100%? That said, dude was taken 4th overall as a pitcher so we all know the talent was always there. He has 23 strike outs in 21 innings in AAA but he also has 22 walks, so command is not there yet. Good luck to him tho . Would be a nice story.
King Old-Timey Member Posted June 19, 2015 Posted June 19, 2015 De Jong made the hot sheet 2. Chase DeJong, rhp, Blue Jays Team: low Class A Lansing (Midwest) Age: 21 Why He’s Here: 2-0, 0.56, 16 IP, 8 H, 1 R, 5 BB, 20 SO The Scoop: Sent back to Lansing after a lackluster campaign there in 2014, DeJong has made the most of his second chance. The righthander, drafted out of high school in Long Beach, Calif., in the second round in 2012, fanned 20 in two starts this week and in doing so vaulted past Stephen Gonsalves and Brent Honeywell to lead the Midwest League with 77 punchouts. He’s been stellar this month as a whole, working to a 3-0, 1.17 mark with 27 strikeouts against just six walks over 23 innings. DeJong throws a three-pitch mix of low-90s fastball, curve and changeup.
