Jansen with his first HR , and hit, of the season. I see Burns was promoted to Buffalo and is playing 2B there tonight. I was surprised he didn't start the season there after his strong 2nd half last year at NH.

Ben Zobrist-esque

I don't like the Jays sitting Jansen every third day, how about DH'ing him on the days he's not catching. I don't think the Jays understand how good he is.

Speakin' of DSJ, he's off to a solid start at AA (big SSS warning). I wonder if they'll promote him to AAA if he's doing well after a month.

I'm rooting for him as that type of player, maybe even DSJ (if he makes it as a 2B). Obviously, not as good as Zobrist, but your system needs to produce all sorts of players.

This is one reason I was never that down on Gose or Pillar, but anyway...

Early but looks poised for a breakout year

Nice jinx King, Greene just imploded in the 4th and is out of the game.

D.J. Davis drills an RBI triple in the 4th, bringing the #Lugnuts within 5-3. Davis has reached in all 10 Lugs games this year.

5K through 3 now.

Also, DSJ with 2 more hits, a good first month could earn him a promo to Buffalo.

DSJ as in Dwight Smith Jr.?

i'm surprised no one's posted Franklin Barreto's progress, 37wRC+, atlhough to be fair the A's skipped him past A ball and his peripherals aren't that much worse than last years. Slightly fewer walks and slightly less power, similar strikeout rates, he's having BABIP problems.

but is it ever early for this forum to enjoy some schadenfreude or hyperventilate over having traded a superstar?

Chris King wrote a very similar blurb today on Labourt, he was probably was the 'scout.' Good news.
