SJE32 Verified Member Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Football not just yet, Alford CF and leading off tonight
flafson Verified Member Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 So, is tomorrow the international draft thingy? How come we don't have a thread for that?
GD Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Meza and Perez signing (probably) want Acosta
flafson Verified Member Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 We have a thread for it, and it's not a draft. Where?
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 wow they really believe in his approach to put him in Lansing for real
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Where? its called July 2nd international free agent something, search for it
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 So this gets interesting. If Alford stays and plays baseball in Lansing (big if?), he becomes a legitimate prospect again. I hope he does but football means a lot more to Alford
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 Ang you know about the Mexican outfielder the jays are linked to?
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 Ang you know about the Mexican outfielder the jays are linked to? Who?
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 I found a Jose Guadalupe Chavez who plays for Rojos del Águila but he's a shortstop. the one i'm talking about apparently is an outfielder and younger
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 15/16 year old OF/RHP, Ben Badler is reporting Jays are linked to him
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 Get it from Battersbox, Ben Badler's article from Baseball America is referenced

Toronto Blue Jays The Blue Jays have done well filling the lower levels of the system with promising Latin American talent. This year their top priority appears to be Venezuelan righthander Juan Meza, one of the top 2014 pitchers. They have also been connected to Kevin Vicuna, one of the better defensive shortstops in the class. Both players train with Carlos Guillen. Righthander Guadalupe Chavez, a converted outfielder with Quintana Roo in the Mexican League, is another played who’s been mentioned as a Blue Jays target.
43211234 Verified Member Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 Are there any latin players of note outside of Labourt, Tirado, Barreto, Lugo and Castro?
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 Richard Urena, Jesus Tinoco, Francisco Rios, Hansel Rodriguez, Deiferson Barreto, Yeltsin Gudino, Freddy Rodriguez, Bryan Lizardo. Probably more but that's just off the top of my head. Michael De La Cruz is a catcher to keep an eye on. Gabriel Cenas, C/3B. Deiferson Barreto has put up pretty good numbers and has a really nice walk and k rate. What is the scouting report on him? Also plays an up the middle position.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 Unfortunately, it's very hard to say because there are almost no reports coming out of GCL/DSL unless you follow Chris King on twitter or know someone within the organization. Luckily, Ang gets out to DSL games quite often so he could probably give you a pretty good report on Deiferson. I'm hoping to learn more about him as he moves up to Bluefield/Vancouver possibly later this season. That was my thought as well. Didn't really find anything when trying to look him up. Would be nice if there was a "Chris King" that was solely at the Blue Jays complex as he seems to travel to different complexes with the Phillies being a constant.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 Nick Wells made his debut today. 1IP 3H 2ER 1BB 0K Btw Lane Thomas kid can really hit 90 wRC+ lol
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 Manny Acta and George bell really love Gustavo Pierre (Pop, Speed but crappy hit tool), and I don't know why.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 He's a hacker. 0 plate discipline, he would get carved the f*** up at the MLB level. Manny Acta's nephew Guerrero is playing CF.
theblujay Verified Member Posted July 3, 2014 Author Posted July 3, 2014 Anything interesting happen in the last 4 days?
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 Yup he made his CF debut yesterday. Moved from SS for good? He's slow (At D), no great footwork but his bat play in the CF. I've known him since he was a child, he's a decent athlete Greg Polanco doby
