Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 Brentz with a pretty good outing. 4IP 1H 0ER 3BB 5K Probably the best of his career. is he in the gcl still?
Vdubfan Verified Member Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 Any update on Roberto Osuna? When will he be back on a roster?
Vdubfan Verified Member Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 He should be back around the end of July, according to an interview with Dane Johnson. Vancouver?
NLJays Verified Member Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 Brentz with a pretty good outing. 4IP 1H 0ER 3BB 5K Probably the best of his career. Did have a HBP too, so gave up a free base per inning. Far from great, but there's at least some reason for a bit of optimism.

Yeah, you've gotta look at every bit of progress with him. The fact that he went 4 innings is a good sign that he had decent command in this outing. He's a long term project, if I'm not mistaken, he was converted to a full-time pitcher not too long ago so patience is key with him.
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 Brentz first 3 appearances, 2014: 7.2 IP (0.2, 3, 4) Brents all of 2013 (9 appearances): 7.2 IP piggy back starts, so he may not go more then 4-5 innings anyway

I don't think you can really look at the results when these short season guys are trying out new things and tweaking deliveries. Look at Norris, it took him over a year before the results started to come.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 29 pitches 20 strikes! A-Sanchez 3 scoreless, walk-less
43211234 Verified Member Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Sanchez with 7 groundball outs through the first three innings. Goddamn if only he could find some command with that stuff and groundball profile.
43211234 Verified Member Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Sanchez 4 scoreless, walk-less And 10 groundouts to 0 flyouts.
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 And 10 groundouts to 0 flyouts. Should've traded him for Norris, lol. Seriously though, the GO/FO ratio is something that gives me hope. I want him, Norris and Nolin to be MLB depth next year at AAA.
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 5IP, 2H, 0ER, 0BB, 1K, 11GO/1FO, 45 pitches thrown.
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 5IP, 2H, 0ER, 0BB, 1K, 11GO/1FO, 45 pitches thrown. listening, watching?
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 listening, watching? Neither, just checked the MiLB scoreboard.
NLJays Verified Member Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 What the heck is wrong with Sanchez? Dude's throwing strikes like he's Bartolo Colon.
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 What the heck is wrong with Sanchez? Dude's throwing strikes like he's Bartolo Colon. It's probably Kratz's fault.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 What the heck is wrong with Sanchez? Dude's throwing strikes like he's Bartolo Colon. 6.2IP, 2K's
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 four pitches walk in the 7th 7IP, walk, 2K's (56/83 strikes)
43211234 Verified Member Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Decent start, nothing great. At least he threw a respectable ratio of strikes to balls.
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Also had a HBP and a balk. Not great, but not as bad as his previous starts. Only 2 K, but tons of GO.
Convo Verified Member Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 "Elite" Dalton Pompey 0/14 to start AA career Panik!
kgm1 Verified Member Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Sanchez,s start was promising, lets hope it is the start of better command.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Don't know if it was discussed but as I suggested Drabek has been moved to the pen in Buffalo. Poor early results though as he gave up runs in both of his last two outings. Only walked one...but didn't throw a good ratio.
SJE32 Verified Member Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Anthony Alford assigned to Lansing. The last 2 years this meant;football time.
