GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 Seems your reacting to a small sample size in Sanchez so far this season. Nope, reacting to Norris. My opinion on Sanchez hasn't changed. I've had him #2 for a long time. But I can't say no to Norris anymore. Also, /some/ reaction to Sanchez is justified. He's had a good amount of starts and he's walking as many as he strikes out, and he isn't striking many out. Which isn't all of why I moved him down, but I'm not high on Sanchez. And I'm very high on Norris, as is apparent by most of my posts.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 Anyone have a stream of the Buffalo game? Stroman vs Latos
Caper Verified Member Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 There should be a link to it right in the box score.
flafson Verified Member Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 Looks like we broke Stroman. Now we will see if he can adjust and triumph.
theblujay Verified Member Posted May 26, 2014 Author Posted May 26, 2014 I'd have Pompey ahead of Barreto and Nay.
Caper Verified Member Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 Looks like we broke Stroman. Now we will see if he can adjust and triumph. If a pitcher can't handle what the Jays did to Stroman... They were never going to make it anyway.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 It would really be nice if Pompey can continue to develop and put the numbers he's been putting up. There would be a buzz in the city pushing for the local kid to make to the bigs and play for his home town.
flafson Verified Member Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 Brain injury?!?!?! That sounds horrible.
SpeedyGose Verified Member Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 I just made this long GIF of Alberto Tirado (Seth Conner hitting, Jorge Saez catching) http://giant.gfycat.com/RemarkablePaltryBarasinga.gif That fastball is hella explosive, fun to watch!
SpeedyGose Verified Member Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 Yeah, i just think Pompey is way safer. He plays really good D at an important position and Nay's D is questionable at 3rd so he really has to hit. I think we're seeing Pompey's floor with Anthony Gose right now.

Caper Verified Member Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 Flores is probably the only other prospect outside of Sanchez worth watching in NH.
ace3113 Verified Member Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 D-No going ham in Dunedin. 5ip 3h 0r 1bb 8so By July it's going to be Norris > Sanchez on many prospects lists, if it isn't already.

Oh but it is. Sweet vindication. Sanchez's last beautiful performance and now THIS beastly performance is helping my point.
TDotttt2005 Verified Member Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 0.72 ERA. Lets bump him up to NH soon *NOW
theblujay Verified Member Posted May 28, 2014 Author Posted May 28, 2014 I've been waiting for Sanchez to get on a roll before I go to see him in NH, but maybe I'll have to go see Norris instead.
beachbum Verified Member Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 Flores is probably the only other prospect outside of Sanchez worth watching in NH. I wouldn't count Burns out yet. Also schimpf, berti and crouse are intriguing to me in NH.
SpeedyGose Verified Member Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 Wow this is pretty crazy (never noticed) Michael De Leon, born in 1997, (just recently turned 17) is playing for the Rangers A Ball team He also has 3 PAs in AA lol http://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playerid=sa823925&position=SS Seems really aggressive considering his 33 wRC+ lol

SpeedyGose Verified Member Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 Meh, he's way young for the level (17), most players his age would be playing in the DSL for 1 or 2 seasons. Also small sample size , but one thing to take from it is that he's not striking out very much so its not like he's COMPLETELY overmatched at the level. Aggressive indeed! Ya, I hear you. It's just very odd to see him completely skip the first 4 levels at that age lol I guess we will wait and see but usually with players who move that quickly (Bryce, Urias) you see some kind of evidence that they should belong. Hard to tell with him if there's something behind the numbers because he swings at everything, haha
SpeedyGose Verified Member Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 There is really no reason for it lol, put him in GCL and let him dominate for a month. He wasn't some super prospect either, ranked #26 on BAs International list
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 Melky Mesa and Hector Gimenez made their Blue Jays debuts today (AA New Hampshire) Kendall Graveman continues to be a groundball machine (9GO-4FO) Other than that, not a very exciting day in the organization. As I had predicted, Matt Boyd is not the big deal.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 darn do they usually play games this early? or is it a doubleheader
Caper Verified Member Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 lol, Sanchez with 88 pitches and he's back out for the 7th inning. Did they take the pitch count off for this game? I hope they keep it off. Take the kid gloves off.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 Annnd Sanchez gives up a leadoff walk, pulled from the game. Sanchez walking backwards.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 and only 1 K. He's pulling a Drabek!
