ace3113 Verified Member Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 Tonight's lineup: CF Davis, DJ 2B Locastro RF Loveless 3B Nay 1B Dean SS Barreto DH Tellez C Saez LF Davis, J SP Labourt Tellez! Holy crap! Crazy news. I personally don't think Rowdy's ready, but he's been hot and that lineup could use some lefty power for their playoff run. Can't hurt, and it should be a good experience regardless.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 Cardona demoted to GCL............ What's going on Paper move to get an extra bat or reliever to Bluefield probably.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 Anyone know anything about Hookahs? Dan Lietz (our 2013 draft pick) just instagramed a picture of his "new home made hookah"? I'm pretty uneducated here, is that used to smoke weed? God damn I think tobacco or Haschisch but I'm not educated about it either.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 All depends what he puts in it but I don't think it counts as illegal drug paraphernalia per say. Again though I don't know much about it. Someone who's spent some time in the Middle East would know more about it.
Pete_7 Verified Member Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 I couldn't help but notice Stilson was not on the Bisons lineup card tonight. Call up?
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 With tonight's Canadians win, They clinched the playoffs Are they not tied with Spokane with 1 game left?
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 No, I was listening to the radio broadcast. They are in the playoffs Did they explain how that is possible? Not being a jerk here I just want to know how they figure it
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 Yeah that's what I was confused on, Spokane was ahead in the second half standings but the team who won the first half has already clinched the second half as well, and Vancouver is 1 game ahead of Spokane in the overall standings with 1 game to go, and they have the tiebreaker.
theblujay Verified Member Posted September 2, 2013 Author Posted September 2, 2013 Chase DeJong promoted to Vancouver Good. I wonder if they are gonna promote anyone else from Bluefield for Van's playoffs.
Phantom95 Verified Member Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 Stroman! No hitter through 4!

GD Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 Holy f***ing s*** Bring this dude up
Laika Community Moderator Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 Don't try to tell me that he can't start
Caper Verified Member Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 Holy f***ing s*** Bring this dude up Even though there is a great case not to bring him up in a meaningless month.... I think you are correct.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 Even though there is a great case not to bring him up in a meaningless month.... I think you are correct. Zero need to waste an option year down the stretch, just wait until next year. I'd like to see him in AAA for a month or two as well. Now that they aren't in Vegas, I think spending some time against some Quad-a hitters will help develop him further
theblujay Verified Member Posted September 2, 2013 Author Posted September 2, 2013 Great way to end the season for my boy Stroman. I think he might be #1 on my offseason prospect list...

Now that they aren't in Vegas, I think spending some time against some Quad-a hitters will help develop him further it wouldn't waste an option year (he has to spend 20 days in the minors after being added to the 40 man) it allows them to start him in the minors without wasting an option though.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 Well, the minor league season is over. Kind of sad Bluefield, Vancouver and Dunedin are the only teams who made the playoffs. Bluefield has been eliminated Vancouver and Dunedin start playoffs tomorrow wish they'd add milb.tv for these games.

I knew there was something else to that... thanks. Curious. Would you rather have Beade or Stroman?
GD Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 Curious. Would you rather have Beade or Stroman? I think I would rather Beede but I don't have a great idea of how he's doing right now.
Caper Verified Member Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 I think I would rather Beede but I don't have a great idea of how he's doing right now. No doubt he is higher touted... be interesting to look back 10 years from now.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 No doubt he is higher touted... be interesting to look back 10 years from now. Speaking of 10 years from now, I wonder what completely obscure random prospect is gonna be tearing the league up Piazza/Pujols style.
DuckDuckGose Verified Member Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 I knew there was something else to that... thanks. Curious. Would you rather have Beade or Stroman? Beede, more upside/riskier and a similar floor. Better velocity and body than Stroman who still has the better out pitch.

Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 0.45 fip {[(13*0)+(0)-(2*11)]/8} + 3.20 -2.75 + 3.20 = 0.45 fip
