KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 RIP Joe Nathan's excellent career Great career. Terrible signing by the Tigers.
BTS Community Moderator Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 RIP Joe Nathan's excellent career He says he plans on coming back. Does he have to say that to collect his $10M or whatever is left on his deal this year? Dude need to just let go.

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 And to think I considered keeping Nathan over Joe Smith in FC. Yikes.
BTS Community Moderator Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 That's a f*** ton of money, I wouldn't leave it on the table. Of course not. But I mean, can he just retire now seeing as he's out for the season anyway, or does he have to keep up the charade while 'rehabbing' or would he lose this year's salary if he said he's not coming back. It just seems silly for a guy at his age, with what he's earned and accomplished, to put himself through this anymore. He can't actually want to come back and play.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 Yuck, what's going on with Cishek? Down to 89.2 MPH and 5.6% SwStr. He never had a good SwStr for a closer but that's just not going to get it done for long.

He never had a good SwStr for a closer but that's just not going to get it done for long. It's a bit worrisome, but it's only 3 innings and he had like a 15/1 K/BB over 9-10 innings in ST.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 Dear the Dodgers, Please take today (and most of the rest of the season) as proof you should start Guerrero at 3B going forward. Regards, z3r0s
Laika Community Moderator Posted April 24, 2015 Author Posted April 24, 2015 Nice 10 k game by unownable trash starter clay buchholz. He's got like a 1.00 FIP outside of his garbage game in NY.
BTS Community Moderator Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 I believed in you, Clay! This is probably not wise.
TRM Verified Member Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 Finnegan called up. Excited to see how he does. If I was confident he was up for good, I'd promote him for two reasons. One, he'd be my first drafted player to be promoted up to my roster, and two, I could use the bullpen help. Guessing this is just to cover some suspensions in the pen for a week, and then back down to the minors to be a starter again.
TRM Verified Member Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 RIP Joe Nathan's excellent career Thanks for your kinds words on the career of one of the vetrin clubhouse leaders of brrryant - lol bts. While he struggled mightily last season, he was a crucial member of the 2013 team that won the Prime Minister's Trophy. His contributions will always be appreciated. Details on a pre-matchup ceremony to honour him will be released by the club closer to the date of the event.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 Your new team name is triggering my OCD quite badly.

TRM Verified Member Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 Your new team name is triggering my OCD quite badly. Interestingly, my new team name was triggered by my own OCD. It is a silent protest in response to the fact that my original and rightful team name has not yet been rectified on the Google doc. Upon that being fixed, I will fix my name on Yahoo.
TRM Verified Member Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 Let's hope Shark doesn't get suspended. The Royals started it! Oh he's missing a start, there's no doubt in my mind.
Laika Community Moderator Posted April 24, 2015 Author Posted April 24, 2015 Oh he's missing a start, there's no doubt in my mind. you mean getting pushed back by one or two days because baseball suspensions are dumb, right?

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 Bobby Parnell (elbow) will be shut down for the next week due to forearm soreness. The Mets don't appear to be overly concerned at this point, but Parnell's velocity has been down and he's been knocked around in his three rehab outings, allowing three runs on six hits and three walks over 2 2/3 innings. Obviously, he's not going to rejoin the big club's bullpen anytime soon. --- Meanwhile, Jeurys Familia is killing it: 11 K/9, 4 K/BB, 58% GB, 2.05 xFIP, 96 MPH avg FB, league leading 8 saves

Even without the closer position he had pretty good value
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 Agreed, the guy has nasty stuff. 96 MPH sinker that gets a ton of groundballs to go with a wipeout slide. It's all coming together for him and the SwStr % is spiking.

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 How's Jesus Montero working out for ya?
BTS Community Moderator Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 Cishek handles the Nats easily for his second consecutive 1-2-3 inning.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 How's Jesus Montero working out for ya? Tearing AAA a new *******.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 Tearing AAA a new *******. Again!
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 Rostering Eddie Butler is like setting your self despair on autopilot. Anyone wanna trade for him? E: Holy f***, Matt Olson hit another homer tonight. Should pull him pretty close to a 200 wRC+ so far. Just turned 21!
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 Boxy might actually beat me this week.
