I'm coming for you FTD!" Yahoo; you are losing 9-5 z3r0s; ... f*** I feel the same about my 3/23 start with a .174 SLG, it's like what else do I have to do to win a matchup in this league??

The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted June 11, 2019 Posted June 11, 2019 So are The Olsons back to rebuilding? Can't see any other reason to be rostering 5 NAs. Probably the right thing to do by looking at the PRs.

Probably the right thing to do by looking at the PRs. He doesn't really have a choice. He has some legit good rotation pieces, but the offense of Bregman, Olson, and a bunch of trash isn't going to cut it. And with only one good prospect, and no 1sts or 2nds in the draft, it looks like another 6-year rebuild.

The team's just as much of a mess as the actual Olson twins are.

BTS Community Moderator Posted June 11, 2019 Posted June 11, 2019 Boxy leaving a hurt Mitch Moreland in his starting lineup for the last week (despite having 5 DL slots) That somehow seems less egregious than leaving Julian Merryweather and Taylor Ward on his roster for 3 months in a supposed competitive season.

Pearce has been bad, Winker has been bad, Puig has been bad, Grichuk has been bad, Cervelli was bad, then concussed, Zobrist was awful. Not sure what I'm supposed to do when literally my entire offense is performing below projections other than hope they turn it around in the second half.

Meh, Merryweather is touching 100 and Ward could be the next Donaldson. My team isn't garbage as I'm around .500 so maybe direct your ire elsewhere? Even if you win our bet, the pick upgrade will be marginal.

I applaud these choices and hope you continue with them.

TheHurl Site Manager Posted June 11, 2019 Posted June 11, 2019 Anyone want a saves guy for a holds guy? I have Jackson, Colome and Cishek available. Got a lot of traction on this. Will respond to all reasonable offers this evening.
Laika Community Moderator Posted June 11, 2019 Author Posted June 11, 2019 I've been saying to Boxy that his mass NA strategy was playoff suicide from day 1. I've also offered him multiple reasonable deals for some of those NA guys and he has stubbornly (stupidly) refused all of them. Last I checked Isaac Paredes had like a .690 OPS and wasn't even playing shortstop anymore. Must hold prospect for sure. Nate Lowe's OPS is like 60th in the International League. Man the waiver draft was a flop this year. Kikuchi sucks, Paredes and Lowe suck. The only gem was Merrill Kelly, who was dropped (stupidly) by BTS too soon.

The current 3rd overall ranked starter came out of the waiver draft.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted June 11, 2019 Posted June 11, 2019 I think NJH meant the top of the Waiver draft. But Giolito and Oddorizzi aren't bad from the SP side. Greene as an RP (I'm sure there are others). Yandy as a hitter. I think I still have all 5 of my waiver picks which is 5 more than I usually have. Colin Moran Diego Castillo Sean Murphy (part of the Pham deal) Blaine Hardy Jason Heyward.

I've dropped everyone but Amir Garrett.
