Figured. Eh, I think Nick might end up regretting that deal, he usually does

I tried to talk him down but he knew he had me over a barrel; I wasn't getting any prospects nearly as valuable as Kopech for any of those guys on their own.

I actually get this for you. It’s a lot like my Verdugo deal. When you have a full farm, it makes sense to ‘lose’ trade if it’s all non core pieces for a prospect you value significantly.

FWIW, I pitched this to SG for Keller and Hurl for Gore, neither bit. Statistically, Kopech will probably be a reliever or wash out, but somebody needs to become the next Syndergaard right?

Welp... :(

3.2 IP, 10 H, 8 R, 2 HR, 1 BB, 0 K.

Didn't hit 92.

I think you missed the sell window!

Nah...

I was first amazed that BTS would offer a useful pick and then amazed when Spanky turned it down. That was like the easiest accept I've ever seen.

Sorry guys I just saw this now.

I think the ruling on jaysblue's penalty was fair (even if it did sadistically work to benefit him with Ray's implosion). I definitely would agree benching Ray is more than enough to make up for a Bedee start.

Now we just need to hope for a Kershaw 20 K start today to steal K for me!

Get your Ian Kinsler offers in now!

The man is slaying it atop Los Angeles' order and is a virtual lock for a 100 run pace!

Not too high of a price tag

That's one way to get to .500 after 2 weeks P2F

Crazy

Yeah, I'm obviously pretty pleased with this week's result. I feel like my team should be competitive this season, but I just wish I hadn't cut/dealt Pivetta. Even went against my gut feeling on that decision.

To Hurl: Wade Davis & Seth Lugo

To me: Will Benson

I will cut Dakota Hudson from my farm to make room for Benson.

I think this is the first mention I've seen of Benson on this forum since I took him in the LoD over a year ago.

I normally don't buy on these toolsy types with poor K rates, but the power is intriguing. I also tend to trust Cleveland as a player dev organization. I'm hoping his offensive profile will turn out something like Jake Lamb or Sano, where the K rate is s***** but the BB rate and power make it work. The market on Wade Davis was decidedly tepid, and I don't think it stood to get much hotter. I basically was choosing between this or a back end 1st round pick.

I would have taken Dakota for a pick!

I don't really have any use for the kind of pick I'd get for him anyway, although I didn't think he'd get any trade interest.

Who is this guy? Did Bobby Bradley change his name?

My acquisition was based entirely on this morning's BP write up.

Will Benson, RF, Cleveland Indians (Low-A Lake County)

Two years ago during a brutally cold April afternoon game, Eloy Jimenez grabbed my attention with one swing of his bat. The then 19-year-old turned on a inside fastball and sent it over the tiki themed beer tent which sat 30 feet beyond the left field fence. Fast forward to an equally frigid Indiana afternoon and Will Benson gave me a glimpse of power that might rival Jimenez’s. Benson hit an absolute laser over 400 feet to opposite field that everyone knew was gone as soon as it left the bat. The raw power is undeniable, generated by a swing that features natural loft and his massive strength. However, up until this year the bat has been inconsistent, lacking the bat-to-ball skills of a more polished hitter. He moves well for his size, and while not a threat on the bases he covers ground well in the outfield. The arm shows good carry and is above-average even for right field. Jimenez saw his prospect status jump with his fantastic 2016 season in the Midwest League. If Benson, who is off to a good start at Lake County, can continue to make strides at the plate he too will vault into the upper echelon of power prospects. —Nathan Graham
