Picks 1 - 5 (lottery teams) are determined by a lottery that includes the teams with the 5 worst records the previous season. There is a separate lottery for each draft. This positioning follows through to all rounds of the given draft.

 

Picks 6 - 12 (non-playoff teams) are determined by the reverse order of regular season winning %

 

Picks 13 - 20 (playoff teams) are determined by playoff standing, with the league winner getting the 20th pick.

 

Speak now or forever hold your peace! Obviously we can discuss changing going forward at some point during the OS.

Constitution has been edited with the following;

 

Rule X Draft order will be determined by the standings of the previous season with a weighted lottery on the Top 5 picks (to help prevent intentional tanking). Previous season standings account for playoff performance and are not strictly linked to previous season winning %. Draft order composition therefore ends up being formulated by;

 

- picks 1 - 5; decided via a weighted draft lottery run by a commissioner. Lottery teams are determined by the lowest W% from the previous season.

- picks 6 - 12; reverse order of W% from the previous season when lottery teams and playoff teams are removed.

- picks 20 - 13; reverse order of the final playoff standings from the previous season

 

under articles 4.5 and 5.7

 

Let me know if there are any objections to this wording

Just be happy we don't have anything exceptionally dumb, like using hits and average. If the league is going to be fiercely stubborn about literally everything, at least none of the rules currently existing are anything above moderately dumb.
