Laika Community Moderator Posted May 19, 2017 Author Posted May 19, 2017 Interesting e-peen measuring contest here. Better DDL career: Dinger or njh? Let's also keep in mind that I run the entire league and control all of your fates
SpeedyGose Verified Member Posted May 19, 2017 Posted May 19, 2017 I think Margot's upside appears mediocre enough that I'd prefer to just re-roll the asset in the draft. 26th overall is certainly high enough to land a total stud, looking at our past drafts. It's a risk but the payoff could be quite large and the chance at a payoff is also decent: Gleyber - 20th Lamb - 25th Reyes - 21st Turner - 22nd Urias - 22nd Manaea - 23rd Adames - 25th Quantrill - 22nd Paddack - 25th Rutherford - 27th Funkhouser - 28th Of course he could also draft Jon Harris 26th overall or something stupid like that. I feel like it's honestly a decent trade for both sides, I still have two top 20 picks (most likely not getting anything better than Margot for #26/I don't have a CF really) and I will only be having 3 or 4 spots total to fill on MiLB roster. While he gets a good pick and a shot at a prospect he may love.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted May 19, 2017 Posted May 19, 2017 I was considering offering 22 straight up for Margot, but he looks like he might be fringy as an MLB keeper at this point in his career. I never really considered him that exciting as a fantasy prospect, although I'm a bit surprised to see KK cut bait on him this early in his career. I was going to offer the 30 spot but figured it wouldn't get him (which I was right and I wouldn't have moved 17)
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted May 20, 2017 Posted May 20, 2017 I sent you an offer to ease the worry, busy guy like you shouldn't put up with this kind of stress. Interesting offer. Will give it some thought.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted May 21, 2017 Posted May 21, 2017 I finally bench Gsellman and he gets 2 Ks with a hold.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted May 21, 2017 Posted May 21, 2017 I finally bench Gsellman and he gets 2 Ks with a hold. What a rare performance.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2017 Posted May 22, 2017 Ugh, could have at least salvaged Ks in my mathup with NJH by setting my lineup. This is really looking like a lost season. Shame, I really wanted to get back in the playoff picture and hand off the team. I guess it's back to the drawing board.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2017 Posted May 22, 2017 On a related note... I want to move assetts to improve my draft positioning. - Heath Hembree: currently 6th overall in holds - Chris Rusin: Relief pitcher ranked in the top 100 assetts with sweet, sweet SP elgibility and a 5.25 K/BB - Brandon Phillips: ho-hum but he'll fill a hole at 2B if you have one, still a solid source of SBs and OBP

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2017 Posted May 23, 2017 CoreDick is out of his mind right now... .434 wOBA JFC

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2017 Posted May 23, 2017 Is Scott Kingery the newest swing plane zealot? Previously considered to have 40/50 grade power, Kingery just blasted his 14th HR in AA and now boasts a .374 ISO. On an unrelated note, I have way too many NA guys.

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2017 Posted May 23, 2017 You should probably trade for Kingery, since your 2B situation currently consists of Sogard and Peraza, with nothing in the foreseeable future. Most teams would kill to have a legit 2B prospect with a .444 wOBA in AA. I mean in actuality, you should have just picked him up as an MiLB free agent, but there's a tax for not being as smart as me.

BTS Community Moderator Posted May 23, 2017 Posted May 23, 2017 I kind of what to make fun of Dinger for pumping Kingery's tires, but if history repeats itself that means I'll be trading for him in about 3 months.

Mulled it over, and decided I didn't have room on my roster for an NA guy that won't be up in the MLB until 2018.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2017 Posted May 23, 2017 I'm just putting him on the general radar, I owned him in LOD so I've been tracking him for awhile. He's putting up better power numbers than Rhys Hoskins did in Reading and he plays 2B. Whether or not he's keepable totally depends on what happens the rest of the season, he makes an intriguing stash though. He's got the best wOBA in AA among actual prospects.

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2017 Posted May 23, 2017 What's the rule on dropping a prospect from my MLB roster before the draft, and then selecting them with an MiLB pick once they're unowned? Asking for a friend.
Laika Community Moderator Posted May 23, 2017 Author Posted May 23, 2017 Players that are held on MLB rosters at the beginning of the draft cannot be drafted in the rule 4. This means that nobody can cut a prospect that hasn't played an MLB game but is currently held on their MLB roster as an NA right before one of their rule 4 picks in order to "demote" said player to their MiLB roster. If a prospect that hasn't played an MLB game gets cut from an MLB roster before the rule 4 draft begins, then they can be drafted. In other words, a player can't gain MiLB draft eligibility during the draft.
