BTS Community Moderator Posted March 29, 2017 Posted March 29, 2017 Charlie "Ace" Morton spring update, 17 ip, 17 k, 1.04 era, 0.92 whip unnngh. First Juan Nicasio, now Morton. Every spring you find a new ace. Pretty frustrating.
BTS Community Moderator Posted March 29, 2017 Posted March 29, 2017 KingKat absolutely can not quit Tyler Chatwood.
Laika Community Moderator Posted March 29, 2017 Author Posted March 29, 2017 Is two SP-eligible-RP overkill? I also love JUAN NICASIO but I already own RAISEL IGLESIAS. Also, I just bought Greg Bird in a keeper auction. I am ready. Also also, Charlie Morton is going to single-handedly save my LoD rotation.

Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2017 Posted March 29, 2017 Wow, I'm going to literally be starting the year with one active starting pitcher. Good god I blow
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2017 Posted March 29, 2017 Matt Boyd is going to be my saviour this year. He's gonna put Morton to shame. 21Ks, 0BBs this spring. Infinity K/BB ratio?

The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2017 Posted March 29, 2017 That means your K/BB will be set to zero. Yahoo's not that dumb is it?
Laika Community Moderator Posted March 29, 2017 Author Posted March 29, 2017 Yahoo's not that dumb is it? Dividing by zero is impossible, so you lose. Sorry.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2017 Posted March 29, 2017 Dividing by zero is impossible, so you lose. Sorry. Well I may as well cut him now then. Because he's showing no signs of letting up
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2017 Posted March 29, 2017 Boyd ended last year on a bit of a decent run too, he was also on my Spring darlings list. I've actually had my eye on Morton too. Had him at the beginning of last year, but then he went and got himself injured.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2017 Posted March 29, 2017 That means your K/BB will be set to zero. Wouldn't they just set it to 99.9?
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2017 Posted March 29, 2017 I've actually had my eye on Morton too. Had him at the beginning of last year, but then he went and got himself injured. Sounds like you guys could plan a little trip to 69 one another without bringing all of us into it.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2017 Posted March 29, 2017 Wouldn't they just set it to 99.9? nope, it's zero.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2017 Posted March 29, 2017 This could be a real problem. If two teams with all Boyd and Niasco type staffs faces each other, what happens when they both have infinite K/BB? Does the guy with 40K/0BB have a 'better' ratio than the guy with 39K/0BB? I'm worried its going to compromise the league integrity dudes.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2017 Posted March 29, 2017 nope, it's zero. Yahoo is not even trying at this point.
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2017 Posted March 29, 2017 It gets added to the team total correctly if there's at least one walk issued by any one of your pitchers during the week, you guys.

Well obviously, but it's not impossible for a team to have an X:0 K/BB in one week, and to lose the matchup over it is egregious. At least take the dumb road and round the walks to 1 FFS. If someone has a 40:0 but loses to someone with 21:5 that's absurd.

Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2017 Posted March 29, 2017 Why not replace it with something sensible like K-BB then? Avoids undefined division and if someone gets a negative score they should just delete their team right there.

There have been weeks before where the one owner went into say day 5 with no walks - their K/BB displays as zero and the other owner's K/BB is bolded and counted as a leading stat.
BTS Community Moderator Posted March 29, 2017 Posted March 29, 2017 It gets added to the team total correctly if there's at least one walk issued by any one of your pitchers during the week, you guys. But what if a team uses only Boyd, Nicasio, and Morton in a week? They'll lose K/BB despite having many strikeouts and no walks.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2017 Posted March 29, 2017 makes me laugh that the 2 non-DDL'ers in the thread think we are actually discussing this as an issue.

Yeah I was totally serious about the possibility of Juan Nicasio, Charlie Morton and Matt Boyd dueling it out for a no walks week. You guys really got me!
