I think it's a playoff team now, and is a good workhorse starter away from being a top team. First successful tear-down and rebuild in DDL history.

Agreed, that's a playoff team this year. I think we'll only see one playoff team coming out of MC this year.

Blew the farm out to get Carlos Martinez, Jose Abrue, and Eaton

You didn't, tho! You still have Urias, Giolito, and Senzel. Motherf***er.

Was a pretty handsome package tho.

Brendan Rodgers, Tyler Glasnow, Jose De Leon, Dansby Swanson, and Zack Collins. All top 10 guys, at least 3 top 15's

and Trevor Story on the MLB team. Perfect example of why you should never draft for need, especially when rebuilding.

I've got a thing for SS's. In addition to those guys; SS I've owned in the last few years.

- Trea Turner

- Addison Russel

- Nick Gordon

- Franklin Berreto

Do wish I still had the Trea guy :P

Heh, I've been stockpiling them too: Tim Anderson, J.P. Crawford, Brendan Rodgers, Nick Gordon, Jorge Mateo

Hoping one of them turns into a franchise building block, and at least one other turns into a legit starter that I can trade.

oh yeah! I owned Mateo too! Good thing a bout SS's is there is always someone looking to get a young guy with potential to hit.

Brendan Rodgers is the fantasy beast of that group IMO. z3r0s could insanely afford to trade him, but on most farms I'd consider him an untouchable jewel. Actually, I need a SSOTF, we should talk. Maybe I'll roll one into my mid-summer Trumbo acquisition.

A lot seemed to go well though so I don't think a lot of rebuilds will go as smoothly. Getting a stud like Tanaka from the waiver draft, a lot of the prospects building on their resume, a Story breakout. Not to take anything away from z3r0s, he did an amazing job with all these trades and is impressing with the moves he just made -- I just think it will be a rarity for teams to pull it off as smoothly as he did.

Shortstops are so hot in the trade market. Almost everyone seems to want to either upgrade or hoard SS prospects. You can make a lot of fantasy money by buying and selling at the right times.

Most other offensive positions are more rigid and the markets are less workable.

SP market is similar to SS, due to attrition and roster capacity.

It's true. I mean if you look around at some of the other rebuilds, the prospects didn't nearly pan out as well. It's a heap of good luck but also timing and targeting the right kind of impact prospects, and knowing when to turn the corner to try and become competitive.

z3r0s' team is looking pretty damn nice and he still hasn't promoted Urias or Giolito. I don't think the division will be a runaway this year.

I actually thought it was KK in our division. I never thought to look who it is behind me.

Also, IRC he held on Sanchez and Tanaka last offseason when a lot of people might have been tempted to dump shares. He deserves credit for that.

I predict:

Dinger, Silver, Silvio, Njh as division winners.

EDIT: Turkey Bacon is a super close race. North, TCA, and njh could all easily take it. Especially if TCA has someone other than TCA as his manager on weekends.

Even looking at the different from finishing 18th to 20th. 15-18 is a death zone. Look how unlucky Boxy got in the lottery. TCA and z3r0s take home Abreu + Tanaka, while Boxy takes Eddie Butler two picks later..

lol... you've been bukaked, clean that s*** up!!

The talent doesn't clean it up, I assume the fluffer transitions to that role when the shoot is done.

Poor Boxy's waiver draft history is tragic:

2014 (4th): Eddie Butler (Tanaka, Abreu taken 1 and 2)

2015 (3rd): Jesus Montero (Tomas, Souza taken 1 and 2 and Kang 5th)

2016 (2nd): Byung-Ho Park (Maeda 1st and Michael Fulmer 4th)

to be fair, He should have had Kang, Jesus was a reach.

IIRC, I traded up to get Kang and he shat all over the pick.

The knock on Kang was he was putting up the same numbers as Eric Thames. Now the tables have turned and Thames goes first in the draft because no one is dismissing KBO numbers anymore.

I'm still kinda dismissing them. I find it hard to believe Thames will go 40-40 with a 1.000 OPS.

What about 25-5 with an 0.800 OPS?

I'm surprised projections have him for 30 HR/.364 wOBA.

If he puts up a season like that, it's one of the better waiver picks we've ever seen.

Byung-ho Park unfortunately shat all over everyone's expectations of KBO transitions following the success of Kang.

I'm so happy he was terrible.
