I think you need a bit more than this to be top-tier. It's good, not great though. Consider that with 20 teams an equitable distribution would be five prospects per team, including one from the top twenty.

So what would one in the top 5 plus eight more guys be? Most are back end 100 guys though.

Also Tim Anderson, Carson Fulmer, Dillon Tate, Jorge Mateo, Nick Williams, and Mark Zagunis

I can't imagine that more than 1-2 teams have a better farm.

Seniors Circuit obviously subscribes to the back end of Keith Law's arrogant world of scouting

29. Dominic Smith

62. Tyler Beede

43. Willie Adames

75. Yohander Mendez

69. Chance Sisco

68. Kyle Lewis

59 Kevin Matain

And just traded 88 and dropped 51.

Otani would surely be #1 if he was applicable.

Unlike LOD, I'm actually pretty good in this league.

91. Stephen Gonsalves, LHP (MIN)

64. Ariel Jurado, RHP (TEX)

33. Kevin Newman, SS (PIT)

24. Manuel Margot, OF (SD)

22. Blake Rutherford, OF (NYY)

16. Mitch Keller, RHP (PIT)

12. Eloy Jimenez, OF (CHC)

Of course, my issue has never really been acquiring prospects. It's that I never hold on to guys long enough for them to pay off and instead mostly just squander them left and right on lousy returns.

Yeah I was ignoring your unlisted guys. A few of them are basically top 100 talents, obviously.

BTS probably does have the best farm right now.

Boxy, z3r0s, KK, BTS - in some order

Funny that my highest one on the list has among the worst trade value. I think I have to move an asset to fit Carson Kelly though (this report has me sold).

Aaron (Durham NC): If his defensive skill allows him to develop offensively in the Majors (as Yadier Molina did), what is Carson Kelly's offensive ceiling? Since he was drafted for his power potential, his latent power potential from the catcher's position, combined with the plate discipline skills he's demonstrated, has always excited me.

Derrick Goold: It’s fair, I think, to actually compare the two offensively with one caveat. Molina was always a contact guy, and that contact (i.e., lack of strikeouts) portended a good ability to hit for average eventually in the majors. He did that. Kelly has less of a swing for average and more of a swing for flashes of power. Otherwise you could see a parallel in how their offense translates over time. Molina with the higher average, Kelly with the higher chance of power.

So available in trade is Joe Panik or Tyler Thornburg. Could move either moving way up in the waiver draft or a 2 for 1 deal.

Swihart kept his C too. I'm not sure if even that is enough to give him keeper value but maybe... I don't have a catcher, the bar is low, he's still quite young....

I've seen his name (stupidly) high one some Dynasty catcher rankings this offseason. Some people seem to expect him to catch in Boston and pass both Leon and Vazquez, soon. I dunno.

Well geez... Looks like he's a catcher again and has a shot according to the good people of Massachussetts.

This begs the question of what the hell they were thinking with that move to the OF.

I tried trading for Swihart but was told no.

Is stupid Chris Carter going to sign somewhere? I know he sucks but he doesn't suck in fantasy.

We can grieve together when he becomes the short side of a 1B platoon with Justin Bour.

Could still land in COL, TEX, or TOR perhaps.

There are like 8 different reasons why I'd be thrilled to see Cargo or Blackmon traded.

I just want Blackmon to get dealt to San Francisco and turn into a fantasy pumpkin overnight. I would be soooo happy.

Carter to 1B and Desmond to a Zobrist type role makes so much sense that sadly I can't possibly see the Rockies doing it.

As soon as the ink was dry on Desmond's deal, it should have been CarGo traded for whatever prospects were available, Desmond to an OF/Util role, and Carter/Napoli brought in to play 1st. Instead, they'll get a replacement-level season from Desmond at 1B and extend Gonzalez to an 80M contract that will be an albatross from day 1.

Desmond to OF, Blackmon traded.

Not at the price they are asking. They might as well just keep him, seems like they are content to waste Desmond at 1st

The Rockies are such a shame. Always have been. It always seems like with a competent front office their rosters would be good enough to pull things together very quickly.

Even right now, they have Story and Arenado, some other OK bats, a deep enough pitching rotation with some potential front end young guys, and some good prospects.
