Laika Community Moderator Posted August 24, 2016 Author Posted August 24, 2016 Trade deadline slowly approaching! My main want: CF upgrade or failing that, an OF upgrade Would dangle any prospect. Would dangle most SP on my roster.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted August 24, 2016 Posted August 24, 2016 Altherr or Dickerson appeal? Not the sexiest options, but they are out there.
Laika Community Moderator Posted August 25, 2016 Author Posted August 25, 2016 Altherr or Dickerson appeal? Not the sexiest options, but they are out there. The bar is Rajai Davis and I'm not sure either is better
Cyborg Verified Member Posted August 25, 2016 Posted August 25, 2016 Catching this year is AWFUL. The position is essentially flat after the top ~4 names because everybody sucks. I don't remember the position ever being so thin. Even Posey has been mediocre. With just 2016 stats Good: Posey, Grandal, Ramos, Lucroy, Rupp, Contreras Above Average: Martin, Gattis, Realmuto, Yadi, Castillo SSS: Leon, Zunino, Bandy, Hermann Doesn't seem that bad too me. League is 87 wRC+ compared to 85 last year.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2016 Posted August 25, 2016 What happened to Benintendi? ESPN update says he's getting an MRI, but not what caused it.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2016 Posted August 25, 2016 What happened to Benintendi? ESPN update says he's getting an MRI, but not what caused it. He injured himself fielding in last night's game. They actually cut to it during the Jays game.
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 25, 2016 Posted August 25, 2016 Siegrist to Dinger for his 3rd MiLB
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2016 Posted August 25, 2016 Yep. I'll commish the add/drop, I can't edit the Google Doc at work tho.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2016 Posted August 25, 2016 Therapeutic drop forthcoming

League is 87 wRC+ compared to 85 last year. For fantasy. Even guys who are actually hitting well like Grandal, Posey, Yadi, Gattis, Martin (more) have been very frustrating in fantasy for various reasons (extended slumps, terrible luck, inconsistent playing time, lack of fantasy counting stats, etc.)
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 25, 2016 Posted August 25, 2016 My trade block keeps shrinking: Victor Martinez (SP or top prospect) Howie Kendrick (SP) Derek Dietrich (MiLB or waiver pick) Tommy Pham (MiLB or waiver pick)
Laika Community Moderator Posted August 25, 2016 Author Posted August 25, 2016 Wow, Ellsbury now PROJECTS for a ~90 wRC+. Just junk!
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2016 Posted August 25, 2016 Wow, Ellsbury now PROJECTS for a ~90 wRC+. Just junk! He's been unplayable all season. Actually, last year too. The times when I was forced to roll with him due to injury have been bleak journeys into the ratio abyss. I've come to the conclusion that Keon Broxton is simply a better option now and going forward, and I've had zero trade interest in Ellsbury; not even for a late pick. I offered him to BTS for Siegrist, and BTS opted for a 3rd rd pick instead lol.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2016 Posted August 25, 2016 Processed the MiLB part of that deal. As an aside, if everyone can check the trade history for their recent deals. There has been a lot of them over the past little bit, and I'd like to keep the history as accurate as possible.

Even with A-Rod and Tex coming off the books, they still have $21 million to Ellsbury for the next 4 years, followed by a $5 million buyout. All those long-term mega deals are really biting them in the ass now. In 2017, the Yankees will be speding roughly 84 million for the following: CC Sabathia ($25M) A-Rod ($21M) Ellsbury ($21M) McCann ($17M)

GD Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2016 Posted August 25, 2016 I'm glad I got rid of Ellsbury in the LOD last offseason. I forget which one of us turned down Kepler for Ellsbury.
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 25, 2016 Posted August 25, 2016 Great contribution. BTW can someone push this Cishek/Dayton trade through? Moved Cishek to you. Need to know who KK is dropping for Dayton.

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2016 Posted August 26, 2016 Jorge "The Legend" Alfaro getting called up today after Chooch was traded. Step aside, Gary Sanchez, there's a new hotshot rookie C.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2016 Posted August 26, 2016 I'm torn on how to feel. I want Alfaro to fall flat on his face so that Rupp continues to get most of the starts. But then I own Alfaro in the LOD.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2016 Posted August 26, 2016 Don't worry, he'll fall flat either way. Dude is an epic hacker.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2016 Posted August 26, 2016 Don't worry, he'll fall flat either way. Dude is an epic hacker. Wanna double down on him then?

Step aside, Gary Sanchez, there's a new hotshot rookie C. I am feeling conflicted as well..... I always was huge on him but finally gave up with all his injuries... It will hurt to see him succeed with someone else.
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 26, 2016 Posted August 26, 2016 Hey BTS what'd you get from Gibbers for Davies? He's been pretty decent actually. I ended up dropping him after he blew up in his first 5-10 starts.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2016 Posted August 26, 2016 McCann can fill that void in your heart. But not the void in your lineup
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2016 Posted August 26, 2016 McCann is the Ellsbury of catchers. Just drop him now.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2016 Posted August 26, 2016 What void dummy? If your flawless lineup could keep hitting like Josh Thole through the weekend, I'd really appreciate that.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2016 Posted August 26, 2016 What void dummy? Someone who trades for McCann would still have a void at C...King, is that you? SG would not appreciate you using his account.
