Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 Dinger's really poorly supported arguments that are based on nothing more than homerism and his fee-fees have been getting to me. Like seriously, in what world can you strongly believe in Seager having multiple .900 OPS seasons? I don't even believe that for Correa. Hanley has 4 .900 OPS seasons on his resume, is he a Hall of Famer? Tulo has 5. I said there's a strong chance Seager can have multiple, ie 2 or more. I also said that's a peak and not an average. Not sure why that is so inconceivable to you. If you want to get really technical, Corey has already had a .900 OPS season.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 To be clear, I think Corey is about a 130 wRC+ bat through the prime of his career, with some spikes 140-145 range and a dud or two around 105-110. He'll probably only be slightly above average this year, but it also wouldn't surprise me if he's just really good right off the bat.

If you want to get really technical, Corey has already had a .900 OPS season. 1. Hanley was probably on his way to the HOF earlier in his career 2. Tulo would be on his way to the HOF had he stayed healthy. Should I bother pointing out the other obvious thing here? 3. I never said it was inconceivable that Seager could have multiple .900 OPS seasons but there is nothing that could possibly lead you to believe this is even semi likely. It's a very unlikely outcome. You're free to believe it but you used it as a reason why you think Corey is better than Kyle and that's based on nothing but illogical conjecture.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 I'll take Adonis Garcia. I also feel he'll do better than both Seagers next year.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 I'll take Adonis Garcia. I also feel he'll do better than both Seagers next year. 1.000 OPS floor at least.

Corey just had a major league sample that illustrates a much higher ceiling than anything Kyle has ever done. No one is claiming it's sustainable, but even with significant regression baked in, there's an elite ceiling here and it's now demonstrable.

The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 1.000 OPS floor at least. Against lefties ya. Overall I give him a .900 OPS floor considering he also has to face right handers. http://i.imgur.com/5F0p1Q6.png

KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 30 games is definitely enough to display that kind of upside. Nice pick. We probably shouldn't even bother with the season. Just hand TCA the trophy.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 We probably shouldn't even bother with the season. Just hand TCA the trophy. He hasn't even demonstrated playoff upside, he's all projection at this point.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 We probably shouldn't even bother with the season. Just hand TCA the trophy. I feel this is the right thing to do.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 We probably shouldn't even bother with the season. Just hand TCA the trophy. Yeah, I feel pretty silly for my joke about him being in the lottery now. .340/.578 ceiling. What a get.

tafkasg Verified Member Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 I wanted to pick him based on his name tbh
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 Getting some SP depth here...Chad Bettis Ah nuts. Good pick.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 Like the littlest Seager? Actually, Kyle is the littler Seager.
tafkasg Verified Member Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 Getting some SP depth here...Chad Bettis Nice get imo, if I didn't need Yovani's na slot I'd have taken him
SpeedyGose Verified Member Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 I messaged GD to let him know he's up
SpeedyGose Verified Member Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 Nice get imo, if I didn't need Yovani's na slot I'd have taken him Thanks, nice to see you back mister gun
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 Caleb Cotham. Boxy up next? Yes.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 I'm gonna take a guy with a demonstrated .824 OPS floor in CF. Tommy Pham.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 I'm gonna take a guy with a demonstrated .824 OPS floor in CF. Tommy Pham. I don't think you understand how floor works, or humour.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 I don't think you understand how floor works, or humour. I didn't want to say ceiling since it is a bit too low for my tastes, so I'm just projecting him to maintain what he's already done at minimum
