Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 I have a Z5 premium. love it. That is exclusive to the shitlords known as Bell mobility. I went with the Sony C5. I like it so far, and I have 15 days to decide if Wind still sucks.
AdamGreenwood Old-Timey Member Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 K guys sry for the questions, anyone had experience with the Sony C5? It looks sexy. Also, anyone with Wind? They were awful when I went with them 2 years ago but according to the semi-honest guy at their booth, they've gotten better since. C5 is pretty affordable. They don't have the Z5. Thx Wind still stinks. Been with them for too long thinking they'll get better, but long distance call quality is terrible, plenty of dead zones all over the city.

I'm not with Wind but have multiple friends who are and have this same complain.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 Bell is good Bell is a massive rip off. Only idiots and spoiled Jewish kids use bell.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 I'm not with Wind but have multiple friends who are and have this same complain. Yeah I had their service before but the unlimited data is something no one else offers. 500 Mb with Bell is like 20 bucks a month. What a joke.
AdamGreenwood Old-Timey Member Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 I'm thinking of switching over to Koodo. Prices are pretty good, and they use the same network as Telus (since they're owned by them), so I'm thinking the coverage should be a lot better.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 Bell is a massive rip off. Only idiots and spoiled Jewish kids use bell. We're paying less for more than we did with Rogers with a better phone that you would probably love But be dumn by all means

Prices are pretty good, and they use the same network as Telus (since they're owned by them), so I'm thinking the coverage should be a lot better. I did the same thing as you two years ago, but I went to Fido since they offered me a really good deal on the device. My issue is always with how expensive data is. You have all these streaming apps now, spotify and Netflix especially and how the f*** are you supposed to use a music streaming service with 1 gig of data? I suggest you look around with the secondary guys (Koodo, fido, Virgin) since they're pretty much all the same. Rogers, Bell and Telus are more expensive for the exact same s***. I'm already having issues getting any kind of mobile data service and this phone keyboard is pissing me off to no end.

That is trash. f*** bell. Shifty phone plan. f*** you straight to the abyss, autocorrect
BTS Community Moderator Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 Is anyone offering reasonably priced unlimited data yet?
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 Is anyone offering reasonably priced unlimited data yet? Only wind. 45/month with unlimited talk and text. Data full speed for 3 gigs.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 Only wind. 45/month with unlimited talk and text. Data full speed for 3 gigs. Is it really unlimited talk and text when your phone doesnt always work?
BTS Community Moderator Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 Only wind. 45/month with unlimited talk and text. Data full speed for 3 gigs. Damn, not bad. I'm paying 60/month for the same package through telus, but it's a corporate plan through a job I left and I'll need to find a new carrier soon. I've heard bad things about Wind's coverage though.
Laika Community Moderator Posted December 6, 2015 Author Posted December 6, 2015 The entire mobile industry in Canada is such a quagmire... the government made all those new rules to protect consumers but all it's seemed to have done is shift more costs to consumers. Sure, before you had to sign a 3 year contract but it seems like it was easier previously to get a $0 phone and a reasonable data plan. Now you just can't get anything reasonable with the major carriers. You're looking at spending $100+ out of pocket on a 2 year contract for any shiny phone, and then you HAVE to spend $75 to even get the discount on the "superphone". But even then, you probably get 1 GB tops for $75. So you're approaching $100 before you have anything reasonable. It's just not worth wading into. I'll just get hand me down last generation phones on the cheap from people that I know and try to keep my current plan forever. I'm currently paying $60 for 6GB and I feel like a pirate.

Yeah they probably really suck in Ottawa. GTA's coverage is OK but this is the last chance they get with me. If I get hit with any coverage cheese in the next two weeks, Wind and I are done forever.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 I found koodo and virgin the cheapest here. Koodo has good coverage and I spend time in the the middle of the nowhere
Cyborg Verified Member Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 Any one of Virgin, Koodo, or Fido is the way to go. If you NEVER leave the city then go with Wind or one of the other cheaper, big city only, options.
Laika Community Moderator Posted December 7, 2015 Author Posted December 7, 2015 Wade Miley in Safeco - fantasy SP2, or just a strong SP3? (note - no other options)
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 Wade Miley in Safeco - fantasy SP2, or just a strong SP3? (note - no other options) HR was never a big factor for him but the fact that he does not have the Monster taking away outs i would vote strong #3
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 Wade Miley in Safeco - fantasy SP2, or just a strong SP3? (note - no other options) Average FIP, below avg Ks, avg GB... seems pretty much replacement level in a 20 teamer.

TRM Verified Member Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 If anyone is trading a SS, holler at me.
BTS Community Moderator Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Have had discussions about moving Betances in a deal for an OF. I figured I might as well open the floor up and see if anyone else has interest. OF and 3B are the cleanest fits for me. Not looking for someone over 30.
