Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 You were selling Familia? Edit: oh, winter. Was Mejia suspended at that point? No, but Familia was a good holds guy with great stuff and a lot younger than Romo. I have the same problem with Koji now as you do with Romo, he'll probably end up in the waiver draft also unless he gets traded.

A rebuilding team could immediately turn a big profit after the cut down. People might undervalue elite relievers a bit though. I'd rather have one of them than the Tillmans Chatwoods and Volquez's of the world.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 My worst prospect (by far (far far far)) is Aaron Blair... I hope that makes most of you cringe at the state of your farms. This is so obnoxious

If I were a middle of the road team, I'd stock up on probable cuts like Romo and Uehara and then immediately trade them once the season starts for a profit. You can get a 2nd round MiLB pick for good relievers as soon as we're past the cut date.

BTS Community Moderator Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 That hasn't really been true in my experience. What did you sell Romo for last year? I think you paid pick 64 for him.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 This is so obnoxious If you can't be obnoxious about your online only fantasy sports team, then what are we even doing here guys!
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 If you can't be obnoxious about your online only fantasy sports team, then what are we even doing here guys! You really do have a very nice farm. It will be interesting to see if you can hit on one of your shortstop prospects. I'd guess Rodgers, probably.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 What did you sell Romo for last year? I think you paid pick 64 for him. He was part of a three way. Think I got Matz, Hoffman, Jackson and a pick for Romo, Ryu, Dahl and Dominic Smith.

Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 To all bros: If you have guys that are on the fringes, I'm willing to buy. I don't have much in the way of picks (would take something nice for me to give up 24) but if you see something you want in my farm or team that makes sense, I'm interested. I'm also interested to be on the other end of asset consolidation. If you have a tough crunch, perhaps a 2 for 1 or 3 for 1 for Wainwright could be available.
BTS Community Moderator Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 My trash: Scott Van Slyke Jeff Locke Yimi Garcia CC Sabathia Drew Storen
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 I'm likely cutting; Jesus Montero Mark Canha Pedro Strop Austin Jackson Zach Duke Alex Wilson Tommy Hunter Josh Collmenter Josh Johnson Let me know if you like anyone (pretty surly group tho)

z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 I'll be targeting alt least 3 of those guys in the waiver draft. But you have to admit its a surly group if you're talking about the 20-man roster.
BTS Community Moderator Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 But you have to admit its a surly group if you're talking about the 20-man roster. Oh yes. Would not roster any pre-cut.
Laika Community Moderator Posted November 18, 2015 Author Posted November 18, 2015 Trade! To me: Adam Wainwright To Boxy: - Jason Hammel - Ben Revere - Brandon Drury - Preston Tucker - Rubby De La Rosa
BTS Community Moderator Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 So basically Hammel for Wainwright.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 Trade! To me: Adam Wainwright To Boxy: - Jason Hammel - Ben Revere - Brandon Drury - Preston Tucker - Rubby De La Rosa wat
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 So you're trading 4 guys you were going to cut anyway and an SP4 for an ace?
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 So you're trading 4 guys you were going to cut anyway and an SP4 for an ace? Is that a joke?
Laika Community Moderator Posted November 18, 2015 Author Posted November 18, 2015 So you're trading 4 guys you were going to cut anyway and an SP4 for an ace? I don't think the gap between Hammel and Wainwright is that sizeable. Hammel has been excellent in Chicago and Wainwright just missed an entire season at an advanced age. Maybe it's more like SP3-->SP2
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 I'm intended cuts right now are Elvis Andrus Austin Barnes Ike Davis Álex Colomé Drew Pomeranz TJ House Kendall Graveman* Danny Hultzen Any pick would get any
BTS Community Moderator Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 So what does everyone's projected 20-man look like? C - Vogt 1B - Abreu 2B - Kendrick 3B - Dietrich SS - Gyorko CF - Eaton OF - Trumbo OF - Mahtook Util - V-Mart OF - Jaso SP - Keuchel SP - Lester SP - Richards SP - Chen SP - Odorizzi SP - Kennedy SP - Nelson RP - Betances RP - Davis RP - Romo Looks like a top-5 pitching staff and bottom-5 offense. Unless I get 1-2 breakout offensive performances or can find a guy or two on the waiver wire I'm going to miss the playoffs.
Laika Community Moderator Posted November 18, 2015 Author Posted November 18, 2015 1B - Votto 2B - Zobrist (OF) 3B - Wright SS - Miller (CF) CF - Fowler OF - Davis (1B) OF - Dickerson UTIL - Gordon BN - Santana (1B) BN - Walker (2B) SP - Arrieta SP - Salazar SP - Iwakuma SP - Wainwright SP - Hendricks SP - Iglesias SP - Anderson SP - Jimenez RP - Rondon RP - Papelbon I don't presently have a catcher and I'd like to trade for one, but I've gone with waiver draft options in the past like Riuz and Jaso and still made the playoffs, so not a big deal. I have a lot of offensive depth. Trea Turner also insures SS from my farm. I'd still like to add 3B depth behind Wright though. I like my rotation depth a lot. I'd like to find a way to keep Tommy Pham and possibly Wily Peralta. I am very open to trading Santana, Walker, Jimenez, and Anderson. I've also explored trading Chris Davis quite a bit. I should comfortably make the playoffs unless I get hit by a lot of bad luck.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 C - Cervelli, or no catcher 1B - Cabrera 2B - Cano 3B - Valencia SS - Reyes CF - Ellsbury OF - Bautista OF - Braun DH - Ortiz BN - Pujols SP1 - Sale SP2 - Bum SP3 - Kazmir SP4 - Jaime SP5 - Rodon RP - Familia RP - Watson RP - Street RP - O'Day 20th man options: Koji, Gattis, Dickey, Cody Anderson, Kelvin Herrera Problem areas: C, 3B, SP depth Should still make the playoffs quite comfortably, I imagine. I may cut Cervelli to keep another pitcher and just roll with Swihart next year.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 God dammit boxy, why errybody always in such a hurry. I thought NJH was joking when he posted that trade. He's gotta be. Right?
Laika Community Moderator Posted November 18, 2015 Author Posted November 18, 2015 C - Cervelli, or no catcher 1B - Cabrera 2B - Cano 3B - Valencia SS - Reyes CF - Ellsbury OF - Bautista OF - Braun DH - Ortiz BN - Pujols SP1 - Sale SP2 - Bum SP3 - Kazmir SP4 - Jaime SP5 - Rodon RP - Familia RP - Watson RP - Street RP - O'Day 20th man options: Koji, Gattis, Dickey, Cody Anderson, Kelvin Herrera Problem areas: C, 3B, SP depth Should still make the playoffs quite comfortably, I imagine. Laika Community Moderator Posted November 18, 2015 Author Posted November 18, 2015 When North comes around he can tell you all about the merits of Brandon Drury
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 Cody Anderson is a must keep. Can't tell if serious or sarcasm. He was actually really nails down the stretch. I don't think his K-rate is representitive of his true talent level, so by the same token I'm not going to live and die by his 2015 xFIP. When you watch him pitch, he looks like a pretty solid dude. Dickey should merit serious consideration for my final spot, if for no other reason than I need SP depth. Sadly, Koji went from must-keep to almost-definitely-going-to-cut overnight with the Kimbrel trade.
Arjun Nimmala Vancouver Canadians - A+ SS It's been slow going at the start of the season for Nimmala, but on Sunday, he was 3-for-5 with his 3rd home run and 3 RBI. Explore Arjun Nimmala News >
