BTS Community Moderator Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 Yeesh... still better than Canadian, tho. Nope.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 Canadian is garbage, I won't even drink it for free. Starting to think Francisco Cervelli is going to be a keeper for me. He's kinda like a poor man's Russell Martin or a middle-class man's John Jaso.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 Yeesh... still better than Canadian, tho. f*** i would not say that Coors is like water with a little pee in it,
Laika Community Moderator Posted August 28, 2015 Author Posted August 28, 2015 Coors/Bud/Canadian = all garbage, but anyone who would turn their nose up at a free beer = an even bigger pile of snob garbage

Had the Yankees kept Cervelli or given Martin like 5/50 before letting him go to Pittsburgh they'd be in a much better place now. I have no idea why they just had to have Brian McCann.

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 Coors/Bud/Canadian = all garbage, but anyone who would turn their nose up at a free beer = an even bigger pile of snob garbage TBH I would drink any free beer as long as it's cold. I would however silently judge that person for having bought Coors or Canadian in the first place. Even if you want dirt cheap beer, there are better options.

Laika Community Moderator Posted August 28, 2015 Author Posted August 28, 2015 These old "Guinness style" Labbatt's Blue posters for the Blue Jays are f***ing wicked. I wonder where I can get one. Probably kijiji. http://www.baseball-collect.com/images/Poster%20Jays%20Labatts%20Twins.jpg http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/Mzk3WDYwMA==/z/0U4AAOSw~gRVkt5F/$_35.JPG http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/ODAwWDY2Mw==/z/pKoAAOSwLVZVz29v/$_35.JPG

I remember when I was in school, we'd go to a bar after class and all the guys in my class would order Bud tall boys. I told them I'd rather piss in my own mouth and they labeled me a beer snob. One of those dipshits heard about the David Clarkson signing during class and was going nuts. I don't know s*** about hockey, but even I was thinking "lol what a noob"
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 Wow, CCC hits DDL waivers. This is a dark day for baseball, folks.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 North streaming for his life! I love it.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 The chart below shows the raw pitch value and Garcia’s MLB rank among the 140 pitchers with at least 80 innings pitched. The next two columns turn the value into a rate stat, per 100 pitches, and show Garcia’s rank among pitchers who throw each pitch at least 10% of the time (5% for the curve). http://cdn.fangraphs.com/blogs/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/FG_logo_transparency.png Jaime Garcia Pitch Values in 2015

[TH=class: d3-td][/TH] [TH=class: d3-td]RAA[/TH] [TH=class: d3-td]Rank[/TH] [TH=class: d3-td]RAA/100 Pitches[/TH] [TH=class: d3-td]Rank[/TH]

Four-Seam 7.0 20th 2.86 1st

Two-Seam 7.4 11th 1.92 3rd

Slider 3.5 27th 1.64 15th

Change 3.6 25th 2.10 6th

Curve 2.0 27th 2.48 6th

Despite the innings gap with most of the pitchers, Garcia ranks in the top 20% for all five pitches. Turning the pitch into a rate stat, Garcia ranks first for the four-seam fastball, third for the two-seam fastball behind only Sonny Gray and Johnny Cueto, sixth for the curve and change and 15th for the slider. Of the 14 pitchers who rank ahead of Garcia on the slider, only Zack Greinke also has a good (greater than 1.0/100) four-seam fastball and only Sonny Gray and Dallas Keuchel also have a good two-seamer. None of the 14 pitchers are well above average with all three pitches. Adding in the good change and curve and it is easy to see how Garcia has gotten good results.
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 Dinger putting the pieces in place to trade Garcia after the season.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 Nah, he's a pure keeper for me.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 Wow, it's almost like Jaime Garcia is a really good pitcher when he's healthy.
AdamGreenwood Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 Big deal. How many arms slots does he have?
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 Wow, CCC hits DDL waivers. This is a dark day for baseball, folks. Poor North has been hit hard by attrition this year. CCC - cut Lowrie - broken, fringe keeper Beltre - old, fringe keeper Kemp - still useful, but value has taken a huge hit Hanley - went from #2 fantasy shortstop to 110 wRC+ corner OF Porcello - suxxxxx Cain - suxxxxxx
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 I wouldn't say Beltre is just a fringe keeper. He was ineffective for awhile after rushing back from a thumb injury, but he's been good lately.
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 I still like Beltre but his future outlook did take a big hit this season. My offense will be difficult to upgrade in the offseason. I believe in Hanley and Kemp and wouldn't get what I believe is fair in a trade return, so I'm stuck with them in the outfield. All I can really do is trade prospects + Moreland for another ace and a closer. This seems unlikely.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 Damn, Berrios had a 12k 1bb peformance his last start in 7ip. K/BB of 5.62 as a 21 y/o in AAA. So yeah looks like I have another ace.

Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 Berrios, Matz, and Appel. An embarrassment of riches. LOL f*** off
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 This seems unlikely. Well the closer part is straight forward enough. You can usually nab one for a pick in the off-season.
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 29, 2015 Posted August 29, 2015 Trade deadline is 3 days away, and the True Cards are open for business. Available: Ethier Betances Turner Romo Davis Shoemaker Trumbo Would like to add a SP and top prospects.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted August 29, 2015 Posted August 29, 2015 I had a recent inquiry on Matt Harvey and I'm willing to move him for the right deal (stfu Dinger) since I have a better guy coming up in Berrios anyway. Big time help for your playoff push!
torontofan Verified Member Posted August 29, 2015 Posted August 29, 2015 Still open to moving any of the following: - Torii Hunter - Ryan Zimmerman - Dexter Fowler - Nori Aoki - Mat Latos - Brett Anderson - Jean Machi - Junichi Tazawa - Ryan Madson
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 29, 2015 Posted August 29, 2015 Raisel Iglesias is ridiculous. Goddamn njh.
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 29, 2015 Posted August 29, 2015 Shoemaker gone. Juan Uribe available for a 1-round waiver or MiLB upgrade.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 29, 2015 Posted August 29, 2015 Anyone need a Catcher? Throwing it out there again, inquire within.
