Laika Community Moderator Posted August 8, 2015 Author Posted August 8, 2015 I'm not even a Puig guy but that is ugly.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 Wow. How did TCA go from blossoming juggernaut to this in two years.
Laika Community Moderator Posted August 8, 2015 Author Posted August 8, 2015 Wow. How did TCA go from blossoming juggernaut to this in two years. Not entirely sure, probably the sauce, but North and I sure aren't complaining. If he wants to push two long term elite players and a currently elite player together to get one long term elite, then so be it!
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 Wow. How did TCA go from blossoming juggernaut to this in two years. He still has some nice pieces: 2B - Rendon 3B - Longoria CF - Gomez CF - Jones OF - Upton OF - Stanton Strasburg Ross Wood Rotation is pretty gross actually, but once he trades an OF for a 1B he should have a top-5 lineup.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 Coming into this season, Puig had the same career wOBA as Stanton.
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 Coming into this season, Puig had the same career wOBA as Stanton. I remember someone talking before the season about how secret fancy stats suggested that Puig won't likely be elite going forward, and that's happened so far.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 I remember someone talking before the season about how secret fancy stats suggested that Puig won't likely be elite going forward, and that's happened so far. Your precious projections say .360+ wOBA ROS.
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 Your precious projections say .360+ wOBA ROS. I know, but the person was talking about stuff beyond what the projections know about.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 There could be some interesting real life award races this year. AL Cy is up for grabs and should provide loads of conversation. ARod deserves comeback player of the year but with Pujols and Prince in the conversation they will have good enough choices to not pick him. NL rookie of the year has gone from a done deal to a legit race. There are a few two horse races too
TheHurl Site Manager Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 I know, but the person was talking about stuff beyond what the projections know about. Was it me? I had a gut feel on Puig (and someone in my ear)
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 Was it me? I had a gut feel on Puig (and someone in my ear) No, someone else I think
Laika Community Moderator Posted August 8, 2015 Author Posted August 8, 2015 I remember someone talking before the season about how secret fancy stats suggested that Puig won't likely be elite going forward, and that's happened so far. HitFX wOBA. Injuries have muddled the picture though.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 It was the cheating robot who has access to that crap. Also, North's xSlash doesn't pain Puig in a flattering light either. Had I acquired him, I would have sold ASAP. E: Seems like TCA would have been better off trading with me, but good for Min getting that haul.
TRM Verified Member Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 If we could all stop talking badly about my new star OF that would be great.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 Dinger pretty much round two for TJS for your beloved Jose Fernandez........ Shoulder stiffness is never good. I might as well take him off you hands for you
Laika Community Moderator Posted August 8, 2015 Author Posted August 8, 2015 I told you guys repeatedly how bad Fernandez' mechanics were, but you wouldn't listen.
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 I told you guys repeatedly how bad Fernandez' mechanics were, but you wouldn't listen. I know absolutely nothing about pitching mechanics, but I thought I heard multiple people say his were pretty much perfect. Not the case?
Laika Community Moderator Posted August 9, 2015 Author Posted August 9, 2015 Oh god no. Inverted L causing very poor timing. The added stress on his arm probably helps his velocity but increases risk. Playing with fire

TheHurl Site Manager Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 *cancels Bumgarner for Fernandez offer* this is why I never turn down an offer. I'm just never around to know the info in time to actually take advantage of it. Speaking of time, I'm back to non responsive for the next week unless I'm checking threads from the basketball.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 Any rebuilding teams want to trade an old, middling SP for a newly appointed young closer with 11 K/9? Tommy Kahnle has been tabbed for the job and has nice peripherals.
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 Walking 5.53/9 and FGDC projects a 4.12 ERA. He's probably not long for a closer's role.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 Walking 5.53/9 and FGDC projects a 4.12 ERA. He's probably not long for a closer's role. Plz stop trying to wet blanket Dinger's sell job.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 Walking 5.53/9 and FGDC projects a 4.12 ERA. He's probably not long for a closer's role. 11 K/9, throws gas, 55% GB, actually I think he's well-suited for Colorado and it's not like they have much competition for him.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 Plz stop trying to wet blanket Dinger's sell job. You can sit and poo poo someone, as many of you did when I picked up Familia in the waiver draft, or you can proactively take a chance on a guy who has nice profit potential, and who could hold a closing job for a long time with plenty of Ks.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 Plz stop trying to wet blanket Dinger's sell job. He's just angry cause he turned down Kahnle for Fister a few days ago. Regrettable.
Laika Community Moderator Posted August 9, 2015 Author Posted August 9, 2015 Yoan Moncada is finally looking scary. Crushing the ball lately and 31/33 in steal attempts in just 61 games - didn't expect him to have that type of stat line speed.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 A few months ago, several prominent members of this league had left Cargo for dead. He's got 2 more HR today, bringing his wOBA up to .375.
Arjun Nimmala Vancouver Canadians - A+ SS It's been slow going at the start of the season for Nimmala, but on Sunday, he was 3-for-5 with his 3rd home run and 3 RBI. Explore Arjun Nimmala News >
