Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 I would probably prefer Correa, actually. Less power, better hit tool, position scarcity. I see a 30/20, ~.400 OBP SS in his prime. That's a ridiculous fantasy asset.

That's a ridiculous fantasy asset. I think if the positional matchup was right (Boxy needs 3B, Bryant's team needs SS) it'd be fair. The difference between Bryant and whatever shitbag Boxy probably has at third rn is bigger than the difference between Correa/Crawford.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 He already has Crawford though. And 3B is starting to get pretty scarce itself. Or if he could land a great 2B, that'd also be a good move.

Or if he could land a great 2B, that'd also be a good move. TBH I still don't believe in Crawford's bat. Clearly I'm not the only one, or someone would have ponied up a decent offer. I would never trade Correa to accomodate keeping a soon-to-be 29 year old Crawford as a rebuilding team.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 Who is this great 2B you speak of Mookie Betts?
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 Who is this great 2B you speak of I heard Anthony Rendon was pretty good. Plus, he has Hurl's seal of approval.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 In before Dinger brings up his health...

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 Rendon was terribly overrated coming into this season. I still like him, I just didn't buy into him as an elite (Top 20) hitter like some others.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 What are you even doing here? You're not even in this league. And you never will... http://memecrunch.com/meme/42A20/you-will-never-get-this/image.png I'm really just here to pump up Boxy's assets so that he stops complaining in the BBDL chat, to be honest.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 The difference between Bryant and whatever shitbag Boxy probably has at third rn is bigger than the difference between Correa/Crawford. Crawford has been replacement level for the last 3 years and is experiencing a temporary power spike. At best he's JJ Hardy. Correa and Bryant will likely ascend to become the premier assets at their respective positions for the next decade, so IMO it's a lateral move. Besides which, nobody is trading Bryant right now.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 please shut up you're not helping Crawford's xISO is nice though. He might be doing the whole Marlon Byrd sell out for power thing.

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 Boxy, since you're looking for an equivalent 3B for Correa, I'm willing to part with my AAA 3B prospect who's slashing .282/.377/.654 (.453 wOBA) with 16 HR in 45 games. No statscout worth his salt could turn that down!
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 Crawford for Rendon seems not totally crazy to me. Rendon is the bigger talent but given all his question marks, he's not necessarily the better assett.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 Crawford for Rendon seems not totally crazy to me. I'd say that's very crazy.

He's put up a season significantly better than Crawford's. He's younger, and has a good track record offensively. The health is a concern, but not enough to make up for the difference in skill.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 If I'm Boxy, I'm sending KK 50 Crawford offers after reading that Rendon post.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 Does anyone here actually WANT to trade for Rendon though? Seems to me he's a guy everyone likes in theory but no one would feel comfortable giving up much more than Crawford for in reality.
TRM Verified Member Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 Who owns Rendon? I gotta make an offer ASAP.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 Who owns Rendon? I gotta make an offer ASAP. TCA. I highly doubt he would accept the deal I just brokered for him.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 Knowing what TCA is asking for Iwakuma, I don't even want to guess what he'd ask for Rendon. Lol @ young
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 Crawford for Rendon would be a wet dream.
TRM Verified Member Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 Knowing what TCA is asking for Iwakuma, I don't even want to guess what he'd ask for Rendon. TCA and I discussing Iwa lasted for a total of one message each.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 TCA and I discussing Iwa lasted for a total of one message each. I'm guessing he asked for one of Ross or Anderson. Amirite?
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 TCA and I discussing Iwa lasted for a total of one message each. Asking price has come down since then. I have 3 good offers right now. I'm just reading scouting reports on prospects to see which one I like the most. I'm hoping to decide this afternoon.
