NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 I will draft another MM... Marcos Molina. z3r0s up.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 Swinging for the fences. I like it. There was another pitcher I liked too. I thought there was more of a chance he'd fall to my next pick though.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 (edited) Or not... fu North ps. Did you hear he's being evaluated for Tommy John? (Only reason I thought he'd fall a bit) Edited June 12, 2015 by The Cats Ass
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 A guy like North keeps you on your toes. You always know he's casting a wide net. I probably shouldn't have drafted Ruddy Giron where I did (if at all) but I let the "better get this guy before he does" thought process get to me.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 Should the Mets just send all their prospects for TJ as soon as they draft them? It seems like a lot of their young pitchers are having a lot of arm problems.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 Just got on, will pick right away (I wanted Buehler and Matuella so I just have to confirm my third pick is who I want).
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 I don't even like him, but I'm going to take Tyler Jay. Would have been much happier with one of those other guys. FeartheD is up (will PM)
Laika Community Moderator Posted June 12, 2015 Author Posted June 12, 2015 Should the Mets just send all their prospects for TJ as soon as they draft them? It seems like a lot of their young pitchers are having a lot of arm problems. The Mets seem to not care much about injury risk. Harvey, Syndergaard, DeGrom all have pretty bad timing. I'm assuming Niese does too based on his history. And then there's Wheeler. But should a team sacrifice effectiveness for health, if that really is a decision? It's a math question, really.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 It seems to be working for them though. Does any team have a better group of young pitchers?
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 It seems to be working for them though. Does any team have a better group of young pitchers? How good are you while you're not pitching?
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 How good are you while you're not pitching? Well they can't all be out for surgery at the same time can they?
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 Well they can't all be out for surgery at the same time can they? Sure they could. I don't like that philosophy, personally, especially for pitchers. They are time bombs as is, why ignore further risk? Not like every skilled pitcher has some hitch in their delivery. I do enjoy how NJH has become a bio-mechanical whiz these days. I agree that I'm not a fan of Syndergaard's inverted X delivery and also worry that the weight of all those letters on the back of his jersey mess with his timing.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 WTF is Joe Maddon's problem with Hector Rondon? He keeps dicking around when Rondon has really done nothing that should jeopardize his closing job.

Some of these pitchers would have came with at a discount because of their deliveries. I guess the Mets feel the risk is worth it.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 I'm selecting Alex Blandino. North is up.

NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 I'll take my first pure stats-scout guy: Jacob Nottingham, Astros catcher of the future. Jays_fever up and emailed.

KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 I wasn't really feeling this draft at first but as usual, once you dive in it gets pretty interesting. I feel like over time the collective psyche of the league has become more in tune. No one's grabbed anyone completely out of nowhere, there haven't been many picks that would qualify as reaches either and lots of people seem to be getting their pockets picked.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 i'll take my first pure stats-scout guy: Jacob nottingham, astros catcher of the future. Jays_fever up and emailed. f***
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 I have my list at home, I'll make my pick around 3
TheHurl Site Manager Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 Not to name drop during a draft but Brock Stassi went 4 for 8 last night and pitched 3 hitless innings in the 18 inning marathon. Two way prospect threat. Gustavo Pierre had a single, double and triple in the game.
TRM Verified Member Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 I'll be here all afternoon, so whoever is after me should standby for around 330
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 True Story. Nottingham goes by the nickame "sherrif" because of course.

KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 I'll take Josh Naylor Nail her? I hardly know her.
TRM Verified Member Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 At work, can't see the doc. I believe Kyle Stephenson is still available though? When it rains High School Bats, it pours High School Bats.
