BTS Community Moderator Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 I have no idea who Brett Phillips is, but I had stat scouted him as a top candidate for pick 75.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 I have no idea who Brett Phillips is, but I had stat scouted him as a top candidate for pick 75. BP really likes him so he's probably the first name on Dinger's list.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 BP has been giving him tons of coverage this season. I had him in my Top 25.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 BP really likes him so he's probably the first name on Dinger's list. Does it say he has the bat speed to handle advanced pitching? How are his bat to ball skills? Is there too much swing and miss to his game?

BTS Community Moderator Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 What do they say about his killer instinct? Is he in possession of one?
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 In case anyone is wondering, Mark Appel still suxxxxxxxxxx
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 What do they say about his killer instinct? Is he in possession of one? Not sure, but I heard from a friend of a scout that his make-up is off the charts because he made a friendly joke with an umpire in one viewing.

I legit read an Astros blog that gave him an 80 make up for his personality/sense of humor
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 Does it say he has the bat speed to handle advanced pitching? How are his bat to ball skills? Is there too much swing and miss to his game? Strikeout rate seems maybe a tad high for the type of player he is but it's not terrible.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 Strikeout rate seems maybe a tad high for the type of player he is but it's not terrible. It's not all about k-rate. Jesse Winker has a low k-rate but it doesn't matter when he's hitting squibblers and infield flies every AB.
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 Brett Phillips is a good pick. One of the best pop-up hitters in this draft. On my short-list for #16.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 Wow, Winker suxxxx That's why you shouldn't stat scout, even if lots of scouting publications loved him more after he continued putting up big numbers. Always better to go for the Albert Almora types.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 They both suck. I've maintained that all along.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 They both suck. I've maintained that all along. Jesse Winker is the truth. You will all see.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 so I assume thats it for tonight? (someone messaged Torontofan?)
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 Jesse Winker is the truth. You will all see. He sucks donkey dick!

Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 Everyone be good, there's too much adversity in this thread, no jokes!
torontofan Verified Member Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 Not sure where we are supposed to pick, but I'll take Ian Happ
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 Rodon suxxxxxx Which is odd, because he's only given up one home run in his pro career.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 75 The True Cardinals 76 The True Cardinals 77 The True Cardinals 78 Triple Hawpe Brewed! 79 The True Cardinals 80 The True Cardinals 81 The True Cardinals 82 Triple Hawpe Brewed! 83 The True Cardinals lol You would have been behind them if I didn't feel sorry for you and all your picks in the 100's.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 Does it say he has the bat speed to handle advanced pitching? How are his bat to ball skills? Is there too much swing and miss to his game? he needs another 3...4 years tops to figure this out.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 Well I couldn't be happier with how my first picks went. Getting Dansby at #5 was a pleasant surprise. I had Tucker all lined up as my 5th pick if Boxy took Swanson. Will be interesting to watch him and see if I regret the decision.

I'd hope you were happy with who you got.
