The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 That is super exciting! Remind me to steer clear of the main board for a few years. ftfy
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 You need reminding? Not really, I never go in there.
BTS Community Moderator Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 d'Arnaud has established himself as at least a league average catcher and Syndergaard is up in the rotation. Meanwhile RA Dickey looks finished as a useful starter.

BTS Community Moderator Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 Anyone with a talented but struggling OF interested in a challenge type of trade for Choo?

Which would be acceptable if the team has made the playoffs but the team went all in and lost and now the prospect capital is starting to come back to haunt us. Not just the Mets gusy but also a lot of the Marlins guys are doing well (though ironically with other teams) and even some of the Happ guys are threatening to become "something".
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 Anyone with a talented but struggling OF interested in a challenge type of trade for Choo? I can't believe I'm saying this, but you should hold. He's been coming around nicely the last two weeks.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 I can't believe I'm saying this, but you should hold. He's been coming around nicely the last two weeks. But Abreu hasn't. You should trade him instead.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 I can't believe I'm saying this, but you should hold. He's been coming around nicely the last two weeks. Was about to say this. BTS keeps him all year last year and April of this year, then decides to sell as soon as he starts righting the ship. Your dumn
BTS Community Moderator Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 I can't believe I'm saying this, but you should hold. He's been coming around nicely the last two weeks. His last two weeks have been weird. Power has come back with 8 doubles and 2 homers for a 156 wRC+ in May, but it's come with a 37% K-rate. I'd be more excited if this had happened with a K-rate close to his career average.

BTS Community Moderator Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 In BTS' defence, he only had him for like 1/3 of last year. Yeah, I missed out on his great April and May. Got him just in time for his awful last month and season-ending surgery.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 Yeah, I missed out on his great April and May. Got him just in time for his awful last month and season-ending surgery. His swings and misses are definitely up but he's not going out of the zone any more than he always has. I'd bet his Ks will come down a bit.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 If I were you, I wouldn't even think about calling him up this year though.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 You don't tell me what to do! I'm not going to Puig him and cheese my way to a high pick.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 A rebuilding team should probably grab Ottavino and DL stash him. Pretty good chance he can get the job back next year around the ASB.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 You don't tell me what to do! I'm not going to Puig him and cheese my way to a high pick. The quickest way off the TML Mediocrity Treadmill is to tank as hard and deep as possible. Unless putting Correa on your MLB roster lets you stash another elite prospect, I'd hold off. Puig Cheese worked exceptionally well for TCA.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 Heh, AJ. Ramos has near 16,000 adds so far today, lol. Even the casuals see the end of the line for Cishek, well, that's because of the managers comment.

I've thought about it, but its hard to spend a keeper spot on a reliever who isn't a lock (says the guy who carried Ryan Cook )
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 I've thought about it, but its hard to spend a keeper spot on a reliever who isn't a lock (says the guy who carried Ryan Cook ) You don't necessarily need to keep him, you could always trade him in the offseason. If I had a free roster spot and a DL spot open, I'd grab him anyway just in case.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 You don't tell me what to do! I'm not going to Puig him and cheese my way to a high pick. And if I had the chance I'd do it over all again. It's smart asset control. Same reason Astros haven't called up Correa. Plus it allowed me to stash another guy on my keeper list at cutdown.

The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 Fine I'll do it You should share whatever you get for him in the offseason with Dinger.

"The Marlins considered (Soriano) earlier but decided to pursue K-Rod partly due to clubhouse considerations." wat
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 What has Soriano done so bad for him to be blackballed, or is he asking too much?
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 Rodon to start again Friday <3 Looks like he's in the rotation to stay, unless he shits the bed.
