That's actually nothing to brag about, it means you didn't maximize your assets.

No. It means that I had solid all-around roster, and that my 21st and 22nd guys would have been better than some other teams 18th, 19th, 20th guys. I shopped a bunch of those guys for picks and nobody wanted them. Nobody offered me a late pick for Rafael Soriano or Casey Janssen (which is what all it would have cost), and nobody wanted Danny Santana etc.

I think I've mentioned how I'm open to moving Danny Santana numerous times, and no inquiries. Even in trade discussions with other clubs, nobody wanted Santana as a third piece in a larger deal or trade talks in general. Cutting him doesn't hurt me. He's a nice speedy option who is eligible at SS/CF, though don't think he hits as well as he did last season. Would loved to have got a draft pick for him, though no suitors. Plus I'm sure me flooding the boards with "Danny Santana is available" would have lead to other mangers bashing him saying he sucks. So yeah!

 

I was able to move Curtis Granderson, Vance Worley, and Tyler Chatwood, guys who I weren't planning on to keep.

to be fair I would have had a tough time rostering Santana. I am just missing a CF (until Myers is eligible) and SS because I traded Franklin. Figured he was a good shot at catching lightning in a bottle for a few months.
