Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 I did not see this coming. Of course you didn't. It's Gibbers.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 I did not see this coming. Me neither but I definitely considered him one of the better relievers available.
GeorgiaPeach Verified Member Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 Given that you actually traded someone useful for this pick, probably you? When I realized I wasn't getting internet access at work today I kinda figured I'd miss a pick or two. So.....didn't care
GeorgiaPeach Verified Member Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 I did not see this coming. I didn't either

GeorgiaPeach Verified Member Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 The other guys I was looking at, I figure I can get later, or something similar.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 I'll take Broxton...cause I'm a contender for middle of the pack.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 This shows you how s*** the waiver draft is. Can't wait to deal my 2016 picks!
TheHurl Site Manager Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 Ohhh, a race between GP and Hurl to see who can get their pick in first. Intense!!! It's like the Tortoise and the Snail. I was going to give him my full 12 hours to pick no matter what. Just as I did in the initial MiLB for people.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 This shows you how s*** the waiver draft is. Can't wait to deal my 2016 picks! I'll take your first right now. For my MiLB second rounder in 2016
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 I'll take your first right now. For my MiLB second rounder in 2016 I would do this. We can only agree in principle right now though.
BTS Community Moderator Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 This shows you how s*** the waiver draft is. Can't wait to deal my 2016 picks! Definitely not regretting trading all my waiver picks.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 I would do this. We can only agree in principle right now though. Done ... in principle
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 Gibbers and I missed an opportunity for a deal. I wanted to move Joe Smith for any pick. He has 16 picks. He then could have kept Smith over Leone/Morin and used #5 elsewhere. I knew I should have sent out a mass PM.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 Done ... in principle Deal. Your MiLB 2016 2nd rounder for my Waiver 2016 1st rounder.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 Deal. Your MiLB 2016 2nd rounder for my Waiver 2016 1st rounder. best part for you is that I have zero chance of remembering this.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 best part for you is that I have zero chance of remembering this. Good, so if you win the DDL next year I can forget this deal ever happened.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 Good, so if you win the DDL next year I can forget this deal ever happened. a bottle of champagne is a Hurl family tradition on Oscar night (we stopped with the formal wear though)...and I'm the only drinker left in the family. So yeah I won't remember. I'm not too drunk to think that the DDL is a possibility though.

Laika Community Moderator Posted February 23, 2015 Author Posted February 23, 2015 I don't know who's available for you guys, but I have to think there were probably about a few dozen better choices (no offense). Aside from a 42 year old Rockie, Broxton was probably the best chance at early saves.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 I don't know who's available for you guys, but I have to think there were probably about a few dozen better choices (no offense). and I have 4 of the next 20 picks. I'll likely have a pretty good pen. If I can go 28-14 in saves and holds that allows me to be below .500 in OBP and my other weak stats. Not to mention the difference between Broxton and some of the best remaining relievers is pretty minimal in the rate stats considering the impact over so few innings. I try to view myself as an 8th place contender rather than the .500 team I likely am.

I didn't realize he was penciled in as the closer, so I guess the pick makes some sense (WHY the hell is he the closer???). He feels like a disaster waiting to happen, and the peripherals tend to back that up.

He feels like a disaster waiting to happen, and the peripherals tend to back that up. I just need him to start the season like he did last year...and 2012, 2010 and most of the years in his career. Then I need just one person to forget I posted this and not look it up. Honestly Milwaukee prefers to keep Will Smith in his "a little bit of everything" role and the rest of the pen looks to be pretty bad. With the exception of the guy that I'll likely pick with my one of my other picks.

BTS Community Moderator Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 Aaron Hill could be a good pick. He looked finished last year, but he's looked finished before and been fine.
BTS Community Moderator Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 Looks like Moncada will be going first overall in our prospect draft.
