BTS Community Moderator Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 WTF is Vogelsong then? A guy who I'd never roster past a cut, but would take easily over Jhoulys Chacin in 2015.
GeorgiaPeach Verified Member Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 A guy who I'd never roster past a cut, but would take easily over Jhoulys Chacin in 2015. I plan on cutting Chacin.
BTS Community Moderator Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 I plan on cutting Chacin. As you should. That would be a wise move.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 Why are you even talking? Because this is an internet message board? Why do you ask stupid questions?
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 A guy who I'd never roster past a cut, but would take easily over Jhoulys Chacin in 2015. Steamer's projections for Vogelsong are way better than Chacin's, and then there's that Coors thing.
BTS Community Moderator Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 Actually, you should probably trade him to jaysblue for a pick. Unless of course jaysblue was talking out his ass.
GeorgiaPeach Verified Member Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 Steamer's projections for Vogelsong are way better than Chacin's, and then there's that Coors thing. According to my projections Vogelsong is worth 19m per year.
Laika Community Moderator Posted October 12, 2014 Author Posted October 12, 2014 How many players do you guys use when making z scores on projections?
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 How many players do you guys use when making z scores on projections? I used 344 hitters and 180 pitchers (I ranked relievers separately). I just used an arbitrary cut off for projected PAs and IP I think was a little over 100.
BTS Community Moderator Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 So, back on topic, who wants to roster crafty lefty Jason Vargas past the cut?
torontofan Verified Member Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 Wow, with all the craziness over the Myers deal I'm going to change the topic. I am potentially looking to add a CF, preferably someone under 30. Looking to package prospect(s) + picks. If anyone is interested feel free to shoot me a pm on pro boards.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 You guys make me wish I was in the BBDL.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 You guys make me wish I was in the BBDL. Such blasphemy.
GeorgiaPeach Verified Member Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 How many players do you guys use when making z scores on projections? Every player in history.
GeorgiaPeach Verified Member Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 So, back on topic, who wants to roster crafty lefty Jason Vargas past the cut? I'm gonna pop him at #4 in the waiver draft. He's easily cuttable.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 You sure? Yup, Chacin was ranked 196th last season and I'm sure he was higher in 2010 and 2011.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 Actually, you should probably trade him to jaysblue for a pick. Unless of course jaysblue was talking out his ass. If Chacin is available in the waiver draft, I'd definitely consider taking him. As for talking out of my ass, do some research Mr. Know It All! Chacin was solid in 2010, 2011 and 2013, and considering his age and upside, he was a valuable asset. I had managers asking about him during and after 2013 - even in another 20-team dynasty league with 40 man rosters. Sure his value has slipped tremendously this season with performance and injuries, though I'd be willing to roll the dice on him if he's available in the waiver draft.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 Because this is an internet message board? Why do you ask stupid questions? I just don't like you.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 Steamer's projections for Vogelsong are way better than Chacin's, and then there's that Coors thing. Steamer knows it all!
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 You should probably drop this new bullying thing(?) It's pretty ridiculous. New bullying thing? Out of all the people talking, it's ironic that Boxy is questioning Gibbers management of how he runs his team, when Boxy's roster is a complete joke.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 I just don't like you. I'm glad. Makes me feel less guilty for finding you to be an annoying pest.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 What flew up jaysblue's ass? Nothing, when someone says I'm talking out of my ass, I'll stand up for myself.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 You know what, I'm gonna correct my mistake and not further this along.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 What flew up jaysblue's ass? He actually kind of reminds me of Raysjays with his writing style.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 He actually kind of reminds me of Raysjays with his writing style. Holy shitf***.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 I know this isn't really news, but you're a massive f***ing moron. I don't answer to you, I can comment on trades just like everyone else and some people need a thicker skin. I know that gibbers is probably the only guy that doesn't want to punch you in the face during a live draft and so you're obligated to be his butt buddy, but try to cool the jets a little bit, ok champ? Whatever you say you little wanker. As for wanting to punch me in the face during a live draft - I don't think that was a case at all this year during any of the baseball, football, hockey and basketball drafts I did. If you want to punch me in the face, then I invite you to take a punch if that makes you feel better!

Lol, so mid round pick > Chacin > Shoemaker If you wouldn't move a mid round pick for Shoemaker, you should just quit the league. But like I said, I think you were talking out our ass to defend your buddy when you posted earlier.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 Lol, so mid round pick > Chacon > Shoemaker If you wouldn't move a mid round pick for Shoemaker, you should just quit the league. But like I said, I think you were talking out our ass to defend your buddy when you posted earlier. Want me to quit? You're something else pal. I really never met an arrogant Mr. Know It All like you. I said Chacin was a valuable asset in those years, and if healthy I liked his arm. It's my own opinion. I'm not talking out of my ass to defend my buddy.
