GD Old-Timey Member Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 Yeah, you can edit rosters post deadline. Also, if anyone is interested in replacing fatcow in a 10 team keeper league with 5 NA slots for prospects/studs like Alex Guerrero, message me. North, Boxy, Brenner, Havok and I are in it along with a couple people from another board and people from my school. The team is made up of Moss, Kendrick, McCann, Rendon, Seager, Blackmon, (JD) Martinez, Yelich, Bruce, Wong, Zimmerman, Myers, Hanley, Sano, Correa, Bryant, other Zimmerman, Latos, Kershaw, McHugh, Paxton, and Synder. It's a really formidable team with lots of useful pieces. He started off slow but rose to 6th and was doing well. Until I started crushing him 13-1 this week with my Harper/Braun/Bau/Cutch/Gomez outfield, so there's that. PM me if interested.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 I'd like to strike a deal possibly before the deadline. Message me if interested.
BTS Community Moderator Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 I'm not liking Gibbers' deadline.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 If anyone wants to stash Granderson and hope he can start to not suck again, I'd move him cheap.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 I'm not liking Gibbers' deadline. Same. Ughh Hurl get online we have a trade tabled.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 I'm not liking Gibbers' deadline. As a rule though, I honestly can't remember a gibbers trade I liked. I mean, I made my own share of blunder trades last year but I was a dynasty rookie.

However, this year you've ripened, and grown a savvy eye for great opportunities like buying Curtis Granderson for dirt cheap before he breaks out again next season.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 I love how our little deal goes by unnoticed. I guess it's because both teams are far from playoff spots.

That doesn't fit my trend of trading #3 starters for ace potential prospects.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 Miller for Castro? Wtf I'm sure if this trade took place last year at this time, you would be saying WTF towards my end...
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 I'm sure if this trade took place last year at this time, you would be saying WTF towards my end... Not really. Shelby Miller isn't all that great.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 Not really. Shelby Miller isn't all that great. 15 wins, 3.06 ERA, 8.78 K/9, 3.73 xFIP last season as a 22-year-old and pitching for the Cardinals - what isn't there to like?
BTS Community Moderator Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 15 wins, 3.06 ERA, 8.78 K/9, 3.73 xFIP last season as a 22-year-old and pitching for the Cardinals - what isn't there to like? Steamer and ZiPS think he's worse than Ryan Vogelsong. So there's that. You just committed highway robbery. Franky I'll be shocked if Gibbers ever fields a 0.500 team.
BTS Community Moderator Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 So who wants to make an 11th hour deal? Belt for a starter. Lets do this!
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 I'm on west coast time, so I hope all you other fantasy nerds plan on staying up to take advantage of the 2:59 pacific deadline.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 Busy night already... I'll entertain offers for Tulo until 2.59 AM EST - I'd be looking for multiple young assets or players in their prime that could improve multiple areas of my squad.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 15 wins, 3.06 ERA, 8.78 K/9, 3.73 xFIP last season as a 22-year-old and pitching for the Cardinals - what isn't there to like? He's probably a decent starter, like mid-lower rotation who seems to be marketed as an up and coming ace. I'm pretty sure you know this since you hardly ever look to trade players who are actually valued correctly.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 So who wants to make an 11th hour deal? Belt for a starter. Lets do this! I have interest in belt but I don't know that I have what you'd want for him. Just so you know at least that there is one more interested party than you think.

BTS Community Moderator Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 Also, with Alex Gordon's game-tying HR in the bottom of the 9th, Nick is one Gordon hit/walk away from overcoming a Thursday 25+ point deficit to steal my playoff spot in another league. This man haunts my dreams.

GeorgiaPeach Verified Member Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 It's so weird because gibbers has been MIA for a while. Then on the trade deadline he deals Lance Lynn out of nowhere to a non-contending team. Since it has to be all MiLB pieces on JF's team, I'm guessing it's something like 1st + Sanchez + Moran? Lynn is no slouch -- 27 year old who has been excellent this year. MIA? What the f*** are you talking about? I maybe miss setting my lineups a handful of times a year in all my leagues. And I just haven't been crazy active like I like to be because another much deeper league has been drawing my attention along with the leagues I plan on dropping I still like to remain somewhat active out of respect to the other managers.
GeorgiaPeach Verified Member Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 I'm at work so I asked him to post it but yea it will be later on Sorry. Wife's birthday today and double-header of ball....couldn't post it.
GeorgiaPeach Verified Member Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 Ya it is frustrating trying to deal with Gibbers. It is always a hassle trying to get a hold of him and then he goes and trades players out of nowhere. Email??? Everyday I'm off, I'm pretty much online all day. If you're messaging me through here or Proboards, you're not gonna get a response from me.
GeorgiaPeach Verified Member Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 The most confusing thing is that it feels like this came out of nowhere. I thought gibbers would have at least posted that he plans on moving Lynn in the next couple days. I usually do that.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 I usually do that. Yeah that's what made it so odd. Normally you send an e-mail or something.
GeorgiaPeach Verified Member Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 If you contact gibbers he's pretty straight up about who he wants and what not, I've never had any issue discussing a deal with him. Because you email me.
GeorgiaPeach Verified Member Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 I'm not liking Gibbers' deadline. You don't have to like it.
GeorgiaPeach Verified Member Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 Steamer and ZiPS think he's worse than Ryan Vogelsong. So there's that. You just committed highway robbery. Franky I'll be shocked if Gibbers ever fields a 0.500 team. I wonder how many years Vogelsong has left?
