TRM Verified Member Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 This just depresses me. When will my luck turnaround. Also the disparity in the good category is amusing. Two teams, and the difference between them is .46 xW%
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 BTS just barely escaped the Average tier (.450-.549). Perhaps I should narrow the average range to .475-.524, but I enjoy disparaging NJH too much.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 Anyone looking to add a depth starter? With Lee set to soon come back I'm looking to move 1 of Estrada, Buchholz, Collmenter, or Vogelsong. I'd either package 2 of them for 1 starter or reliever. Or trade 1 for a prospect or maybe a pick.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 Also WTF BP is slacking I thought they were supposed to have their top 50 up today. I'm so god damn antsy to see the entire list. Holy crap, I DO have a Top 50 prospect! How did that happen and who can I trade him to?

My farm system took a major dip with graduations, but I've still got some nice pitching depth with Giolito, Bundy, and Meyer high on the list (and Kohl Stewart in the mids). Who has the best system now anyway?
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 speaking of, anyone want to take a shot at Stubbs? I won't be able to keep him, my OF is full. Offers a nice combo of some power and some speed. I'd be looking for a starter upgrade or position prospect (or prospect upgrade)
TRM Verified Member Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 Anyone shopping a closer. Also, can someone post the owned prospects google doc link?
TRM Verified Member Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 Also again, if anyone has time a tally of distribution of the top 50 per team would be worthwhile. I'll do it tomorrow if no one has done it by then, but busy today

Who has the best system now anyway? I would say I have the best system now. Russell (#6), Stephenson (#10), Gallo (#13), Sano (#16), Nimmo (#45) and I think Zimmer would have been in the 25-35 range had he not been injured.
SpeedyGose Verified Member Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 Week 15 Power Ranking. New Metric "Month" = zTOT - zTOT(4 wks ago). Thanks buddy! Nice to see I made it out of the bad column, haha. Also top 5 in the last month (along with Gibbers and Zeros, don't call it a comeback )
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 Everyone who targeted prospects should feel they have the best system as everyone likes their own prospects. I have 5 in the top 30, and Soler and Franco should just be outside the top 50 im guessing, as well as a bunch of my other pitching prospects

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 I like SG's farm the best, but nobody in this league has a farm that blows my socks off.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 Keep up the good work! Hopefully you can force WAR Puigs and 2LS into packing it in and retooling for next year. I may soon have to. I'll see after this week against Mike Trout.
TRM Verified Member Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 Looking to put a package together for a starter. Depending on the level, Tim Anderson is available, any other prospects and my first for next year.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 Anytime someone has a chance to run away with the MC Division their team f***s up and lets everyone catch up lol. Someone should just f***ing take it lol.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 I'm just thrilled to have two in the top 50 (48 still counts!) Severino just made the cut.

The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 All 4 of mine are available for a good player that can help me out now. I could use a catcher and a 3B...
TRM Verified Member Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 Looks like the MC is going to send three teams to the playoffs. We don't suck! I still expect 2 from Cheesesteak, 3 from TBC, 1 from Reuben and 2 from MC

Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 Let's play a midseason game. List your biggest surprise, and biggest letdown at both the MLB/MiLB levels this year. Biggest MLB Surprise: Adam LaRoce. I picked him up from North for the 116th pick last offseason. I was expecting decent counting stats with a .800 OPS being a possibility. His .400+ OBP has been a huge crutch for my offense, and he's done a great job from the cleanup spot in the Nats lineup. (Honorable mentions: Charlie Blackmon, Ian Kinsler) Biggest MLB Letdown: Easily Eric Hosmer. This offseason he was probably considered a top 50 dynasty player by most. He's been brutal this year. The power has evaporated, he's not stealing, and he's struggling against the fastball. I'm praying for a second half turn around. (Honorable mentions: Justin Masterson, Curtis Granderson) Biggest MiLB Surprise: I don't have much to choose from, but Josh Bell. Improved on last year's good year, and has landed himself on both Top 50 lists. A strong finish could have him in the top 30. Biggest MiLB Letdown: Reese McGuire. It's my own fault, I made an uneducated pick at the time. McGuire is similar to Hedges in that most of his value is tied to defense. It doesn't matter if McGuire is great behind the plate if he provides minimal to zero fantasy value. I spent a 9th pick on him and it's turned out terribly. At least I've learned from that error.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 Who the hell did BA list as my 2nd top-50 guy? Hunter Dozier

Biggest MLB Surprise: Tanner Roark. I didn't know much about him but Spanky was facing a roster crunch so I traded a mid-round pick for him. Looks like he could be a solid rotation piece for years to come. Elias is another guy I didn't know much about and whose is looking similar to Roark. I traded Ed Rodriguez and possilby a secondary piece for him and that's looking great so far. Biggest MLB Letdown: Will Venable. This hursts because I had traded him away in the off-season but then I re-acquired him in the Ellsbury deal thinking he would have value. Big derp there. Second guessing kills. Biggest MiLB surprise: Mookie Betts. I loved Mookie and refused to trade him for Ortiz in the off-season. That being said I didn't necessarily expect him to break out in such a way that everybody would know how good he is. I got somewhat close to making a blockbuster acquisition with him that would have wiped the floor with Ortiz. Biggest MiLB bust: Wilmer Flores. Yuck. Mets were supposed to give him an opportunity but instead they've been dicking him around and he's doing terribly. Activating him has not worked our for me at all. Jose Ramirez is in a similar boat but at least he's still on my farm which gives me the luxury of patience.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 Mid-Season Game: Biggest MLB Surprise: Michael Morse. I drafted him in the initial draft, but traded him away. Traded a pick for him before this season and it has worked out great. Biggest MLB Letdown: Josh Johnson... that bastard. I'm going to have to spin the wheel again, using a 20-man roster spot on him, hoping he can stay healthy next year. Him or Josmil Pinto, but I feel that was more of a playing time issue. Biggest MiLB Surprise: Nobody was a big surprise to me. I guess Polanco being THAT good? Biggest MiLB Letdown: Jon Schoop. I was really hoping he would put it together a bit this year. The O's gave him all the time in the world, but he hasn't capitalized.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 Don't remind me, ughh. Wishing you picked Taylor Jordan instead as I gave you the option. I still believe in Jordan though. Good for you. It's interesting to see how these either/or trades work out. When NJH and I did our Anibal trade, I offered Ryu + one of Beachy or Archer, and he ended up taking Beachy, who broke almost immediately. I dodged a bullet on that one, Archer has been fantastic so far.
SpeedyGose Verified Member Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 This is a cool idea, FTD! Biggest Surprise MLB: I would say my biggest surprise has been Seth Smith. Scooped him up from Free Agency this year and he's posted a .377 wOBA and 147 wRC+. Really solidified my OF with Bryce, Werth and Khrush. Biggest Letdown MLB: Nick Swisher. I realize he's not a great player anymore but his slash line of 197/287/317 is cut worthy. Hoping for a rebound now that he's back from injury... Biggest MiLB Surprise: Aaron Judge. I liked what I saw when he was drafted but he didn't play at all last year, so I didn't know how well it would translate. Turns out, it translated quite nicely. After putting up 165 wRC+ in 65 games at Low A, he was promoted to High A and has put up a 187 wRC+ after 16 games. Excited to follow his path to the big leagues. Biggest MiLB Letdown: Jesse Biddle. I was hoping this would be the year Biddle found a more consistent control/command, however that hasn't been the case. Repeating AA with a higher fip/xfip as well as a lower K/9 and still a quite high 4.58 BB/9, it's been a disappointing season for him.
